About This Pub
You know, I had a lovely time at The Fog On The Tyne the other day, and I reckon it's one of those hidden gems that really deserves more buzz. The food stands out – their Sunday lunch is spot on with tender meat and perfectly cooked veg, and don't even get me started on that homemade apple crumble; it's pure comfort in a bowl. Paired with a great pint and the odd live music night, it's just the ticket for a relaxed catch-up with mates. The staff are genuinely warm and make you feel like a regular from day one, which is always a plus. On the flip side, it's a tad out of the way, so you might need to keep your eyes peeled to find it, and being a smaller spot, it can fill up quickly on weekends, making it feel a bit cramped. Still, for the price and the atmosphere, it's well worth popping in – I'd say give it a go if you're after an authentic pub experience without the crowds.
Pros and Cons
Pros

The food is absolutely spot on – think tender Sunday roasts, delicious homemade desserts like apple crumble, and tasty burgers that hit the mark.
-
Service is top-notch, with friendly staff who make you feel right at home from the moment you walk in.
-
They've got a great selection of beers, lagers, and ciders, plus live music events that add a lively buzz to the place.
-
It's a cosy independent spot with a recent makeover, giving it a fresh and welcoming feel that's perfect for a relaxed afternoon or evening.
-
Value for money is excellent, especially with their lunch deals that offer good portions at affordable prices.
Cons
-
It's a bit tucked away and not the easiest to find, which might put some off if you're not familiar with the area.
-
The venue is on the smaller side, so it can get quite snug during busier times, and you might struggle for space.
-
Their opening hours seem to vary a tad, particularly on Sundays, which could be confusing if you're planning a visit.

First time here but for sure not the last!. Firstly, great service followed by a first class Sunday lunch. The meat was tender and the vegetables spot on ....and as for the homemade apple crumble & custard absolutely delicious. Thank you to everyone!
I've walked into this building more than cpl thousand times but this was the first time since the schooner became the fog on the Tyne, it was literally like walking into a different building, it was sad but in good way and it looks like it's finally had that much needed face lift.
Great welcoming from the staff and place was clean, tidy and well presented with a great new layout, we ordered from the lunch time menu and took advantage of the all burgers £9 in January offer, I had the BBQ brisket burger which was delicious and packed a punch from the jalapenos, my wife had the scampi and they said it was the small portion but I don't think she could have ate another bite
I didn't know what to expect and I was hesitant to go down and see the changes but I'm glad I did and I'll definitely be back if they keep making food that good
Get down and try it for yourself
Called in for lunch, midweek. Great value on the lunch menu. One course for £9. 2 for 12 and 3 for 15. I ordered the potato skins for starters and mince and dumplings for main course. Both were delicious. My daughter ordered mince and dumplings and apple crumble for dessert. The beer was lovely and there was a huge range to choose from. The staff were very friendly and attentive. Will definitely be back soon.
What a find this delightful venue right on the banks of the Tyne, that I never new existed. Great venue for live music as well as a most friendly atmosphere and clientele. Went to see GYROSCOPE who were tremendous as usual. I would definitely visit again and would highly recommend this pub.
A place that has recently had a full face lift, bar lift, everything. Slightly hidden away but well worth finding. Good selection of beers, lagers, ciders. Staff are brilliant, including the chef, we can vouch for the burgers, beef and chicken. Not a huge place but ample room on an afternoon. Street parking at the front, children tolerated.
