About This Pub
Ah, The Farm in Bristol – it's one of those pubs that just feels like a proper local gem, you know? From what I've gathered chatting about it, the food is where it really shines; people are going on about those delicious roasts and home-cooked dishes that hit the spot every time, with portions that leave you satisfied without breaking the bank. The staff come across as genuinely lovely, always ready with a smile and a good recommendation, which makes popping in for a drink or a bite feel effortless. That beer garden is another highlight – it's brilliant for soaking up the sun or even dodging a bit of rain, and with perks like real ales and a cosy fireplace, it's got that classic pub charm sorted. But, to keep it real, there was this one story that gave me pause; a family had a less than ideal experience with their kids getting a telling-off inside, forcing them out into the damp with smokers nearby, which doesn't quite match up to the family-friendly billing. Overall, though, with such a strong rating and positive buzz, I'd say it's worth a visit for a relaxed evening – just maybe plan around the family bit if you've got little ones in tow. It's all about balance, isn't it?
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The food here is an absolute treat, especially those Sunday roasts – folks are raving about how perfectly seasoned and generous they are, making it a top spot for a hearty meal.
-
The staff are really welcoming and friendly, always up for a chat and making you feel right at home, which adds to that cosy pub atmosphere.
-
It's got a lovely beer garden with plenty of outdoor seating, ideal for enjoying a pint in the sunshine or even sheltering from a light shower.
-
A great range of drinks on offer, including real ales and cocktails, plus amenities like a warm fireplace inside for those colder evenings.
-
The place has a traditional, community feel with things like live sports and being pet-friendly, making it a versatile spot for all sorts of get-togethers.
Cons
-
It claims to be family-friendly, but from one account, it didn't quite hit the mark – a group with young ones got told off for playing inside and ended up outside in the rain, which sounds a bit off-putting.
-
The outdoor areas can sometimes be tricky if it's wet, as the sheltered spots might be occupied by smokers, leaving you with fewer options for a comfortable seat.

Definitely NOT family friendly! The barman told our children off (aged 6, 3 and 1) for being "inappropriate" whilst playing together inside whilst there were no other customers inside. We then felt forced to sit outside in the rain, we couldn't sit under shelter because it was full of people smoking weed so we had to sit on the grass which was covered in dog poo. The only saving grace was the delicious pizza but we definitely will not be visiting again and would not recommend to anyone else, especially families with small children.
Absolutely love this place good food good people lovely garden rain or shine you can hide from the rain and hide from the sun 🌞 keep up the good work
Can’t get over how delicious the roast was. Soooo well-seasoned and the perfect portion. 1000% the best roast I’ve ever had! Gorgeous location and lovely people working there too.
Always a great place to visit in the sunshine after dancing all night or a decent walk around Purdown. The bar staff were proper sound and the food/ menu was delicious. Shout out to all the Ravers that remember DJ Dereks legendary sunday sets here in the 90s
I had the opportunity to eat Sunday Roast with my family at The Farm. I can confidently say that it was the best I've ever eaten in the city. My relatives were also delighted, the lamb and beef were prepared perfectly and the vegetables with the sauce were masterful. Yorkshire pudding? huuuge! We also ate delicious Cauliflower Cheese and Xmas dessert, everything was very tasty. I highly recommend it, one of the places that I could call a "hidden gem" on the Bristol map. Amazing service!
