About This Pub

You know, I had a lovely time at The Elms the other week, and it's one of those pubs that just gets it right for a good old get-together. The staff are absolute stars – always up for a chat and making sure everyone's looked after, which really adds to the homely feel. They've nailed the drinks side of things with their top-notch real ales and craft gins; it's a proper treat if you're into that sort of thing. The beer garden is brilliant for soaking up the fresh air, especially with the river nearby, and the open fires inside make it cosy on chillier evenings. Plus, if footie's your thing, they've got all the sports channels sorted so you can catch the match without missing a beat. On the flip side, it's more about the pints than a big food spread, so if you're hoping for a full dinner, you might want to plan ahead or pop to another spot first. And just a heads-up, the opening times can vary a bit, so give it a quick check to make sure it's open when you fancy heading over. All in all, it's a solid choice for a relaxed night out – I'd say it's well worth a visit if you're in the area.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, making you feel right at home from the moment you walk in.
  • They've got a brilliant selection of real ales and craft gins that'll satisfy any beer or gin enthusiast.
  • The beer garden is a real gem, perfect for enjoying a pint outdoors on a sunny day.
  • It's spotlessly clean and tidy, with a cosy atmosphere thanks to features like open fires and live entertainment.
  • If you're a sports fan, you'll love that they show Sky Sports and BT Sport, so you won't miss the big games.
  • It's dog-friendly and has disabled access, which makes it inclusive for everyone.
Cons
  • It seems more focused on drinks than a full menu of food, so if you're after a hearty meal, you might need to look elsewhere.
  • The opening hours can be a tad confusing with varying times listed, so it's worth checking in advance to avoid disappointment.

Only the Landlord pouring today (The Bass will be ready to go on shortly) but who needs alternatives when the quality is so good. A terrific old style boozer with Sky Sports News quietly on 📺 in the corner. Fabulous service and friendly locals make it difficult to leave.

Possibly my favourite pub in Burton; wish it was my local! Rare type of pub that feels welcoming at any time of day but also convivial of an evening.
