About This Pub
Ah, The Elgin in Notting Hill is one of those pubs that just feels like a breath of fresh air – it's got that timeless charm and a lively buzz that's perfect for everything from a casual lunch to a cheeky evening tipple. What really stands out is the warm, inviting atmosphere; it's all about those cosy interiors and a team of staff who go out of their way to make you feel at home, just like chatting with old pals. The food menu is a winner too, showcasing the best of British seasonality with hearty options that leave you satisfied, and don't miss the beer garden if you're after a bit of outdoor relaxation. On the downside, keep in mind that it can close earlier than some might hope, so plan accordingly, and the prices are on the moderate side, which means it might not be the go-to for a wallet-friendly night. Overall, it's a solid choice if you're looking for a balanced spot that delivers on good vibes and grub, but with a few quirks to note – honest to goodness, it's worth a visit for that authentic pub experience.

We had an absolutely wonderful experience at this pub! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. The real highlight of the night, though, was our waiter Riccardo—he was attentive, friendly, and made us feel genuinely taken care of without ever being overbearing. You can tell he really enjoys what he does, and it makes all the difference. Definitely recommended.
Excellent old pub near Portobello road, with great decor. Great outdoor seating under shade. Perfect for a pub lunch in the sun. Pastrami sandwich was delicious.
We visited on a weekday evening. The pub was then quiet and yet also very elegant.
Had a few drinks. I shall revisit for the food
Many bars closed before midnight on NYE, so we were excited when we found The Elgin, just a 5 minute walk from the airbnb we were staying at in Notting Hill. This bar has some of the friendliest staff working behind the bar, and they genuinely seemed happy to be there. The ambiance and atmosphere is beautiful and cozy!
As a photographer, I particularly loved the blend of urban charm and the venue’s warm, welcoming interiors. The combination of natural light, cozy details, and the energy of Portobello Road made for stunning photos. The Elgin is ideal for couples seeking a laid-back yet stylish wedding venue with exceptional food, great drinks, and a unique London vibe.
