About This Pub

Ah, The Eagle – it's one of those pubs that really pulls you in with its charm in North Kensington. I've heard from quite a few folks that the beer is spot on, with a fantastic selection that's fresh and well-poured, making it perfect for settling in with mates for a chat. The Sunday roast gets rave reviews too; it's hearty and full of flavour, just the thing for a lazy weekend. And let's not forget the friendly staff who make you feel right at home, plus perks like being dog-friendly and having live music or a terrace for those sunny days. On the flip side, it's a bit gutting to hear about times when the food's been overcooked or doesn't quite justify the price tag – like shelling out for something that ends up underwhelming. Service can be a mixed bag as well, with stories of meals turning up in the wrong order or delays that throw off the evening. All in all, it's a solid choice if you're after a relaxed pub experience, but it'd be wise to keep expectations in check and maybe stick to the classics to avoid any disappointments. Give it a go if you're in the area; it's got that authentic London pub feel with room for improvement.

Pros and Cons

  • Service can be inconsistent, with issues like meals arriving out of order or delays that put a dampener on the visit.
  • A few experiences have been disappointing, with food described as inedible in some cases, which is a shame for a place with such potential.
  • The overall value might not always live up to expectations, especially if you're hoping for a flawless meal without any hitches.

Disappointing Experience – Would Not Recommend We were extremely disappointed with our visit. The food was overcooked, overpriced, and honestly inedible. We paid £58 for what amounted to half a piece of fish, a small side salad, some vegetables, and two beers. The beers were the only thing we could actually enjoy. Service was just as poor. No one came by to check on us after we ordered, and it turned out they had completely forgotten about our food. It wasn’t until the staff were preparing to go on break that they realized we were still sitting there waiting to be served. Unfortunately, this was not a pleasant dining experience. It's definitely not a place I would recommend for a meal.

Having eaten at the Eagle previously we expected a reasonable meal and an adequate service. We were a party of 6 and 3 of the main meals arrived before the starters ( which they thought was reasonable) we then declined the starters and waited about 15 minutes for the other 3 mains. The three coffees ordered came without saucers, spoons or sugar. I can only imagine that it's under new management or they were training new staff. Such a shame as it's put us off booking for the next family meal. Nobody had checked the table beforehand as there was a half smoked cigarette in the menu box.

Our group went here twice while on vacation...so good we had to come back! Quite honestly some of the best chips I've ever had, including fries in the US. We also got the Sunday roast for four, and everything was fantastic; plenty of food to go around. Service was very good too. Highly recommend!

Unreasonable Hospitality: visiting from out of town and the kindness this pub has shown has been unparalleled. We had to check out early from our Airbnb and Joe let us stay here in between. We had awesome truffle fries, drinks, and great conversations. Joe is awesome and I will definitely visit again soon.
