About This Pub
Ah, The Castle on Portobello Road – it's one of those spots that just feels like a classic London gem, tucked away near the buzz of the market and that iconic blue door from Notting Hill. From what I've gathered from the reviews, it's got this lovely homely atmosphere that makes you want to settle in for a pint or a hearty meal, with folks raving about the flavoursome food and that explorative drinks menu. The staff really shine through, always warm and accommodating, even when things get a bit hectic – it's clear they put in the effort to make everyone feel at ease. On the flip side, it's not without its downsides; weekends can turn into a proper squeeze, so if you're after a more relaxed affair, you might want to pop in midweek when it's less packed. All in all, it's a solid pick for a laid-back lunch or dinner with friends, offering that authentic British pub experience without breaking the bank, but do keep an eye on the timings to avoid any disappointments.

A classic pub foods, cosy atmosphere, great choices of draught beer. Just a little bit crowded on weekend but absolutely worth it.
We had a lovely lunch at this restaurant. The food was excellent, well presented and made with high-quality ingredients. The staff were very friendly and professional, especially Mara, who welcomed us with warmth, professionalism, and kindness, making us feel immediately at ease.
The atmosphere was cozy and relaxed, perfect for enjoying a good meal. The location is also great, well-kept and convenient.
We’ll definitely be coming back!
A random stop as we grew hungry but wanted off the busy street as a street market closed up. This pub looked welcoming. We sat and ordered without high expectations, we were fooled -the drinks and food were delicious and the service impeccable!! we even stayed for dessert! Would recommend & come back!
Josh and the whole staff were awesome. My wife is a big pain, changing her order, high maintenance, and he just rolled with it. Hooked us up with whatever we asked for. Food was amazing, especially the fried cauliflower, fish & chips, and the drinks. Cheers!

First pub we ate in on our London Trip. The place was packed and the servers were run off their feet (I'm sure it was just a regular Saturday afternoon for them) and they were working extremely hard and always with a smile. Very accommodating in getting us a table. My friend had the fish and chips and I had the steak and ale pie. All were delicious. Very good prices for London. Keep doing what you are doing. It was a delightful experience.
