About This Pub

You know, chatting about The Duke Organic feels like sharing a pint with mates – it's this gem in London that's been all about organic since 1998, certified by the Soil Association, which is pretty cool if you're into that eco-friendly vibe. The food really shines, with folks raving about the roasts and unique wines; I mean, it's heartwarming to see places like this thriving, supporting good causes. The atmosphere is just lovely, all cosy and inviting, perfect for a relaxed evening. But let's be honest, it does have its off moments – when it's packed, service can drag, and some dishes might not hit the mark every time, like a slightly tough lamb or overdone spuds. Still, for anyone keen on quality organic options without breaking the bank, it's well worth a visit; just pop in on a quieter day for the full experience.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The food is absolutely brilliant, especially the Sunday roasts which are hearty and full of flavour – I've heard they're some of the best around.
  • The atmosphere is so cosy and welcoming, with a lovely interior that makes you feel right at home in this historic spot.
  • Staff are super friendly and always on hand to chat about the menu, helping you pick the perfect organic beer or wine.
  • They've got a fantastic selection of organic drinks, like those tasty orange wines and beers that really set this place apart.
  • It's in a great location in Angel, making it an ideal spot for a relaxed catch-up after a wander around London.
Cons
  • Service can get a bit slow when the place is buzzing, which might leave you waiting a tad longer for your order.
  • Some dishes aren't always spot-on, like the roast potatoes that can be overcooked or meat that's a little tough now and then.
  • It tends to get quite packed, especially on busy days, which can make it feel a bit overwhelming if you're after a quiet pint.

The food, the atmosphere was incredible! It was so busy so service was very slow. The roast was incredible, highly recommend visiting and also trying their orange wines!

Hands down best roast dinner I’ve ever had. The haggis was amazing! I hope more people can support organic so we can see good places like this thrive and survive.

This is quite a famous pub in the neighbourhood for its organic beer. I came before for a small bite & was pleased with quality of the food. This time I went with a friend to try a bigger dish. Mine was fine. The fish & black rice was delicious & quite beautifully presented. However, my elderly companion found her lamb too chewy & had left most of it. We were offered a free dessert in return. The pudding was well executed. All in all I still think this is a good option for a bite to eat & a drink.

The good bits: Great atmosphere, lovely interior and felt super cozy. The wine and beer selection was fantastic. The cons: My roast was alright! The lamb was okay but not amazing, a little tough. I enjoyed the veggies but quite standard. The roast potatoes were overcooked/slightly burnt. The Yorkshire pudding went hard right after it cooled down. My girlfriend had the chicken and chorizo pie which was also quite basic but had a big price. Was expecting much more because of the price and it all being organic. Have had far better roasts for cheaper.

First of all can I just say that this has to be on of my favourite pubs in London. It’s ideally located in Angel. The staff here are all super friendly and will walk you through any options you need. The food is fantastic especially their Sunday roasts. You’re looking at £25-30pp as of Oct 24 for a Sunday lunch which given the quality is not bad at all. Would highly recommend if you’re in the area
