About This Pub
Oh, what a gem The Bar with No Name is – tucked away just off the beaten path, it's got this warm, inviting feel that makes you want to settle in right away. I have to say, the cocktails are a standout; they're so well-made with fresh, seasonal ingredients and a creative flair that really elevates the classics, leaving you with that satisfied glow after just one. The live music is another highlight – imagine sinking into a cosy corner while jazz or blues sets the mood, it's pure magic for anyone who loves a bit of atmosphere with their drink. The team behind the bar are spot on too, always chatting away and sharing tips that make you feel right at home. But, let's be honest, it's not all perfect; the music can crank up to ear-splitting levels, which means chatting with your mates turns into a bit of a challenge, and the small space can get a tad overwhelming when it's packed. Plus, with prices on the higher end, it's probably best saved for those special occasions rather than a quick pint after work. Overall, it's a fantastic choice if you're up for an immersive cocktail adventure, but keep in mind it might not suit if you're after something more relaxed.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The cocktails are absolutely top-notch – they're expertly crafted with creative twists on classics, making every sip a real treat.
-
The live music, like jazz and blues performances, adds a brilliant vibe and makes for an intimate, unforgettable night out.
-
The staff are genuinely friendly and knowledgeable, always on hand to recommend the perfect drink and enhance the whole experience.
-
It's a cosy hidden gem off the main road, perfect for a special evening with that speakeasy charm we've all come to love.
Cons
-
The music can get incredibly loud, which makes it tricky to have a proper chat or linger for long without shouting over it.
-
The space is quite small, so it might feel a bit cramped on busier evenings, limiting the comfort for larger groups.
-
It's on the pricey side, which could put a dent in your wallet if you're just after a casual drink rather than something fancy.

Cocktails are really good, but it's simply impossible to stay there for long or have a chat, the music is very (very!) loud and it's a pretty small space. All you can do there is to get drunk fast. Maybe dates are ok if you're sitting really close to each other, but visiting with friends is a suboptimal experience
The cocktails were outstanding – classic recipes elevated with unique inspiration and depth of flavor. Every drink felt like a creative experience. The staff were fantastic – knowledgeable, attentive, and clearly passionate about what they do. The vibe was so enjoyable that I completely forgot to take a single photo, which says it all
I CANNOT believe I’ve been living in Angel for two years & only chanced upon this the other night. It transported me right to some of the best of the best speakeasy’s in downtown New York. The live piano was incredible & the cocktails were divine. Martini (vodka & gin based) and gimlet are hard classics to get right & I rkn this was one of the best I’ve ever had all around the globe. The service was also IMPECCABLE. The waiter noticed small details like moving me to a table so I could enjoy the live music better, water was also fresh and topped up & the staff were so friendly and accommodating. Will no doubt be a regular here.
One of the best cocktail bars in London. Creativity with seasonal ingredients is unmatched. Masterclasses are also excellent 👍
My favourite bar in London with some of the best cocktails. The cocktail menu has all the classics and several house signatures. The Manhattan steel corp is my go-to, a creative distilled Manhattan from the house. We have also done two masterclass cocktail making classes which were educational and incredibly fun. The service is 10/10 every time and Maurice plays live piano everyday Sunday and Wednesday. We always stop by when we are in London.
