About This Pub
Ah, The Colmore – it's one of those places that just hits the right notes for a good night out in Birmingham. I've got to say, the beers are always on point; they've got this brilliant selection of craft brews that aren't overly expensive, which is a breath of fresh air in the city centre. Pair that with their fresh Milanese pizzas, which are packed with flavour and come at a fair price, and you've got a winning combo for a casual meal or a quick pint. The staff are genuinely lovely, always ready with a smile and efficient service that keeps things running smoothly. The atmosphere is what really stands out though – it's got that elegant, almost glamorous feel with the chandeliers and plush seating, and the pool table downstairs adds a fun touch for when you fancy a game. On the flip side, it can be a bit on the quiet side sometimes, so if you're after a packed house with loads of energy, you might find it a smidge subdued. Plus, since it's walk-in only, you could end up waiting or missing out on a table if it's busy, and the early closing time means it's more suited to evenings that wrap up at a reasonable hour. All in all, it's a solid choice for anyone wanting a relaxed, quality pub experience without the hassle, and I'd definitely recommend giving it a go if you're in the area.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The beer selection is absolutely spot on, with a fantastic range of craft ales from Thornbridge and other UK breweries, and they're reasonably priced too – a real bargain in Birmingham city centre.
-
The pizzas are fresh and delicious, made with top-notch ingredients like Italian flour and their own brewery IPA, and you can get one for under £13, which is a treat.
-
The service is friendly and quick, making you feel right at home from the moment you walk in.
-
The venue's decor is stylish and inviting, with marble tables, chandeliers, and cosy corners that give it a luxurious New York bar vibe, plus there's a pool table downstairs for a bit of fun.
-
It's kept spotlessly clean, from the seating areas to the toilets, which always makes for a more enjoyable visit.
Cons
-
It can sometimes feel a tad quiet, especially if you're after a lively atmosphere, as it's not always buzzing depending on the time you go.
-
Being walk-in only means you might struggle to find a seat during busier times, so it's worth popping in early to avoid disappointment.
-
With closing times around 11 PM, it's not the best spot for a late-night sesh if you're in the mood for something that goes on longer.

Favourite Pub in Birmingham. Beers are always spot on and not overly expensive, £4.70 for most the ales which is a steal in Brum centre. Craft selection on the back wall is also nowhere near as expensive as places like The Head of Steam.
Best and tastiest fresh pizzas for less than £13!
Service is excellent, staff are knowledgeable about the beers & other selections. Always offer a taster if you're not sure about one to save you wasting money on something you may not enjoy.
Been here a few times for drinks, and always enjoyed it. We've never gone very late in the day, so atmosphere wise, it wasn't very busy but we don't mind personally. Food and drinks prices were reasonable, service was speedy and the food was delish. Would definitely return for another pizza 😋 There's also a pool table downstairs which is a nice little bonus if you fancy a game.
Exceptional Beer (Lukas) , fantastic staff, wonderful ambience (no TV) and good clientele. Clean toilets and clean seating, what not to like about this pub. Never ever had a bad beer or food. Thornbridge brewery this place does you proud. Come here almost every other week and have always loved it.
Beautiful location and beautiful venue. Love the decor inside. Lovely staff and always great service. They are serving nice selection of beers from their own Thornbridge brewery as well as guest beers from other UK breweries. Cool variety from ipa to stout, sour to porter. Fresh pizza is just mouthwatering. Love the seating arrangements for singles to big groups. Its one of my fav drink place in Birmingham.
Lively pub. Visited on a Sunday evening and I can see why it was packed. Decent prices for the location it's in. This was a flying visit for a quick pint, but I'll have to return for a longer one because the beer selection looked fantastic. Friendly service too.
