About This Pub

Ah, The Lost & Found – it's one of those places in Birmingham that really captures your imagination right from the get-go. Tucked away on Bennetts Hill in a gorgeous old building, it's got this whimsical, botany-inspired decor that makes you feel like you're in a hidden oasis amid the city hustle. From what I've gathered from the buzz around it, the food is mostly a winner; think inventive takes on British classics with fresh, seasonal twists that leave you satisfied and smiling. The bottomless brunch is a real highlight – imagine tucking into your favourite dishes while the drinks keep coming, whether it's a fizzy Prosecco or a refreshing cocktail. And the service? Well, it's warm and attentive, with staff who make you feel right at home, just like chatting with old friends over a meal. But, let's be fair, it's not all roses; there have been a few grumbles about food not always being cooked to perfection, like that disappointing undercooked beef that left a bad taste. Plus, the cocktail menu might feel a bit slim on choices, and with moderate prices, you might wonder if it's worth every penny if things don't go smoothly. Overall, it's a solid choice for a relaxed outing with pals, as long as you go in with realistic expectations and maybe stick to the safer menu options for a top-notch experience.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The atmosphere is absolutely enchanting, with a whimsical botanical theme in a stunning grade II listed building that makes you feel like you've stepped into a secret garden – perfect for a relaxed catch-up with mates.
  • The food is generally spot on, especially the starters and brunch options; folks rave about the delicious dishes and how they're made with flair, using fresh, seasonal ingredients to give those classic British meals a creative twist.
  • Service is top-notch, with friendly staff who go the extra mile to make you feel welcome – like that server who checked in with a warm smile and made sure everything was just right.
  • They've got some cracking deals, such as bottomless brunch with unlimited drinks like Aperol Spritz or Prosecco, which is brilliant for a fun day out and keeps the good times flowing.
Cons
  • There can be inconsistencies with food preparation, like one review mentioning undercooked beef that was slimy and fatty, which might put you off if you're after a reliable meal.
  • The cocktail selection seems a bit limited at times, with not as many options as you'd hope, even during those 2-for-1 deals, so it might not satisfy if you're a real cocktail enthusiast.
  • Prices are on the moderate side, but some might find it a tad steep for what you get, especially if things don't quite hit the mark on the food front.

Met with a friend for a late lunch, catch up, natter. Perfect! We ordered 4 starters and shared as neither of us were over hungry. Food delicious! Surrounding just lovely! We then sat there chatting so long we realised the 2 for 1 cocktails had started! Not many to choose from but my! They were so good! I know we'll be back again!

Had a fantastic bottomless brunch with a friend who l hadn't seen for a long while here. It was the perfect setting and the drinks just kept coming! The food was delicious and the cocktails were refreshing. I will definitely be back for another visit, it was so worth every penny and I even brought a dessert after our bottomless brunch time was up !! Thank you so much guys 😄 ALSO: I don't know the waitresses name but she was witty and friendly and attentive, 10/10 staff.

The venue is nicely decorated and styled and we were greeted on entry and taking to our table by a polite and friendly and attentive waitress. Unfortunately that’s where the positives ended. Myself and my partner had the beef roast, the beef had a slimy texture was seriously undercooked and very fatty. The potatoes were also undercooked. The broccoli was fit for the pin, way past its best and it was the same with my partner’s cauliflower cheese. My daughter who made the booking for Mother’s Day barely ate her fish as it was watery and very mushy. We got the attention of the waitress to complain about the food, she was apologetic and said she’d get the manager to speak to us, we waited about 45 mins and the manager never arrived so we got the attention of the waitress again and she went off to speak to the manager again. Eventually we had the meals discounted but not to the level that matched the waste of money and poorly prepared food. I would not recommend this place for food.

My husband and I loved everything here -- from the food, the place and most especially the service. Leilt is so lovely! She made us feel comfortable as it was our first time eating here. We'll definitely come back. 5 stars! 💖

We had a lovely dining experience, and I want to especially highlight Charlotte's exceptional service. She was incredibly kind, professional, and attentive throughout. She frequently checked on us with a warm smile, making sure we were happy with our food and if we needed anything else. It made us feel genuinely cared for.🥰Although Charlotte seemed to handle everything on her own (the manager was nowhere to be seen🥷), she managed everything perfectly. We had made a reservation to celebrate two birthdays, and her hospitality truly added to the occasion.🎉💯 As for the food, while most of it was delicious, there was a slight issue with the steak we ordered (12 oz Argentine beef). It had a somewhat bitter aftertaste, which might have come from the grill not being properly cleaned some marks on the meat made that taste. However, aside from that, the portion was generous and enjoyable. The chorizo in the mac and cheese was outstanding, and I was pleasantly surprised by the steak mushrooms and tomato, they were thoughtful additions with delightful flavors.😍👌 Overall, it was a very pleasant experience, thanks to Charlotte's fantastic service and the mostly delicious food.🥂❤️
