About This Pub
Ah, The Castle in Tooting – it's one of those pubs that just feels like a proper local gem, you know? From what I've gathered from folks' chats, the atmosphere is spot on, especially if you snag a spot in the garden; it's all twinkly lights and cosy nooks that make for a brilliant night out. The food's a real highlight too – think mouth-watering Sunday roasts with meat so tender it falls apart, and they've nailed the details with gluten-free options, which is a win for anyone with preferences. The staff are an absolute treat, always on hand with a smile and ready to sort you out, whether it's for a casual pint or a bigger do in their spacious rooms. But, let's be fair, it's not all perfect; there have been a few grumbles about drinks not quite living up to expectations, like a cocktail that was way too sweet and needed doctoring to make it enjoyable. Still, with an overall solid rating and plenty of happy punters, I'd say it's worth a visit – just keep your expectations in check and you might end up with a cracking evening.

They've got a great selection of food, including options for those with dietary needs like gluten-free buns for burgers – it's thoughtful touches like that which make a difference.

The food is delicious, with rave reviews for their Sunday roasts – perfectly cooked meat that just melts in your mouth, paired with crunchy roast potatoes.
-
It's a versatile spot, ideal for everything from casual meet-ups to company gatherings, with spacious rooms that add to the overall experience.
Cons
-
Some drinks might not hit the mark, like one cocktail that was overly sweet and lacked that proper froth, leaving you to tweak it yourself with extras.
-
There could be inconsistencies in certain items, as one visit highlighted a less than ideal experience with a specific drink, which might put a dampener on things.

It's a fantastic place. They serve different types of food. The atmosphere is conducive. The customer service is top-notch.
Came for Harvey’s quiz, phenomenal as usual. Was very disappointed as a bartender, when I ordered an Amaretto Sour and it was sickly sweet, and not the slightest bit foamy. Got to the point where we had to ask for lemon juice on the side, as well as tap water to add to the drink, still was not drinkable. Lovely venue, had a picpoul to replace the cocktail, but would highly recommend that specs are up to date with the bar staff as that cocktail was £22 I will never get back. Disheartening.
Nice atmosphere, especially in the garden, all illuminated with lots of light.
The best part is they had gluten-free buns for the burgers!!!
We booked the back room for a company meeting in London as in the afternoon we was doing the Bake Off event. The Room was lovely, and spacious. The staff were super friendly and helpful. And the Food was sooo yummy! So thank you for providing a great venue for our Company meeting. One of the nicest pubs in Tooting for sure.
We Don’t know the area at all but was pleasantly surprised by how gastro cool this pub was. We opted for the Sunday roast beef- compliments to the chef who cooked that meat to perfection- it fell apart in my mouth, roast potatoes were hot crunchy and well seasoned- I can honestly say it felt like a proper home cooked roast dinner. The staff were just really nice and pleasant, obvious to see they actually enjoy working in this pub - they worked well as a team you could hear them having quiet banter between each other, which was lovely to be seated in a happy environment
