About This Pub

Ah, The Brewery – it's one of those pubs that just feels like a proper gem in Whitley Bay, you know? From what I've gathered from the reviews, it's got this brilliant vibe that's perfect for kicking back with friends over a pint or tucking into a delicious Sunday roast. Folks are really singing its praises for the amazing beer and the friendly service; it's clear the staff put in the effort to make you feel right at home. The food sounds spot on too – generous portions and good quality that leave you satisfied without breaking the bank entirely. But, let's be honest, it's not all rosy; a few have noted that drinks are a bit pricier than elsewhere, and there was that one review hinting at some changes for the worse after a while, which makes me wonder if it's as consistent as we'd hope. Still, with an overall rating of 4.2 and plenty of five-star shout-outs, I'd say it's worth popping in for a visit, especially if you're after a relaxed spot with outdoor options. Just keep an eye on your wallet and maybe check the opening times first to avoid any surprises!

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The atmosphere is absolutely brilliant and welcoming, making it a must-visit spot in the North East for a relaxing pint.
  • They've got amazing beer and a great selection of drinks, with some reviewers raving about the refreshing Stellar and the overall quality.
  • The food is spot on, especially the Sunday roasts – well-presented, tasty, and with generous portions that offer real value for money.
  • Service is top-notch; the staff are incredibly friendly and go out of their way to help, adding to that homely feel.
  • It's clean and well-maintained, with a nice beer garden at the front and back, perfect for enjoying a drink outdoors when the weather's on your side.
Cons
  • Pints can be a tad more expensive than at some other places, which might make you think twice if you're watching the pennies.
  • There might be some inconsistencies with the experience over time, as one chap mentioned things had gone downhill after a few months, though we don't have the full story.
  • The operating hours seem a bit muddled in the details, which could leave you scratching your head about when it's actually open beyond the typical midday start.

Cracking pub beer really decent staff really friendly whats not to like. A pint is a tad more expensive than some places but quality drink. No idiots nice relaxing atmosphere 👌 Six months later Well update and it's not good.. returned to this pub after six months no clue what has happened the beer was terrible flat, the pub smelled damp and not pleasant the men's toilets need a deep clean awful smell here too, one of the bench seats in the lounge area was ripped to shreds and all the foam hanging out could go on all day just unbelievable from being a great pub to the worst in such a short time, wished I'd had the presence of mind to photo the damage etc.

Absolutely delicious Sunday roast, couldn't eat it all, stuffed to the gills, washed down with a refreshing Stellar. Staff go out there way to help especially the barman with the glasses. definitely will be back.

1st time in years, and quite frankly, I was impressed..... Stella was £4.40 a pint and served with a smile. It was good, the place was quiet at the time of visiting but I could see it being busy at other times. There is a beer garden at the front and at the back, so there are plenty of places to get a seat. It's clean and tidy with spotless toilets! Has a darts board and a pool table. Definitely visit if you're in the area.
