About This Pub
Ah, The Brasshouse – it's one of those places that really gets you in the mood for a good night out in Dunfermline. From what I've gathered from the reviews, it's got this infectious energy with a semi-nightclub feel, where everyone's just letting loose with some funky dancing and plenty of laughs; I can picture it being a right laugh with friends. The drinks are a highlight – those cheap cocktails make it easy on the wallet, and they've got live music and a solid playlist that keeps the dance floor hopping. The staff seem spot on too, quick to serve and with security making sure things stay civil, which is always a plus for a worry-free evening. On the flip side, though, it's a bit of a letdown when events fall through, like a band not turning up without any warning – that could really put a dampener on your plans. Plus, with it only opening a couple of days a week, you might find yourself out in the cold more often than not, and the toilets needing a good clean is just one of those niggles that adds up. All in all, it's worth popping in if you're after a lively spot, but I'd say go in with your eyes open and maybe check ahead if you can; it's got that charm that makes for a memorable night, but it's not without its rough edges.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The atmosphere is brilliant – it's got that semi-nightclub vibe with miles of smiles, funky dancing, and a mix of young and older crowds making it feel welcoming and lively.
-
Drinks are a steal, like those cocktails for just £9.99, and they've got a decent selection to keep things affordable without skimping on fun.
-
Live music and a good playlist make for an energetic night; it's a top spot for a lively dance with a large area to boogie.
-
Staff are quick, professional, and the door team's always on hand, which helps keep things safe and hassle-free.
-
They offer good food options, so you can grab a bite alongside your drinks, making it a well-rounded spot for an evening out.
Cons
-
Events can be unreliable – like when a band doesn't show up and there's no heads-up, which leaves you hanging and disappointed.
-
The place has limited hours, only open a couple of days a week, so it's easy to turn up and find it shut when you're in the mood.
-
Toilets could use a proper tidy-up; it's a small thing, but it does take away from the overall experience.
-
No website means it's tricky to check what's on or get the latest info, which might lead to a few surprises you'd rather avoid.

Had eaten earlier but loved this place... Semi night club Vibe, young and older folks just getting it on, miles of smiles and some funky dancing from several areas... I Loved it!!! 👍 ® Recommended DJMc
The band never showed up,when I asked the brasshouse what was happening got the inimitable line quote "we don't know either " unquote . Place wasn't even open for the live tribute act ,or any waring that it was of and no posters at the venue to say it was of.once bitten forever jogging on.plenty places that will have your patronage
Excellent place with live music and cheap drinks, 2 x 9.99£ in cocktails is the best. Located right next to the Black Sabbath Bridge, it's impossible to miss it. They have good food options too.
Large dance area with a decent selection of drinks. Staff are quick and professional. Door staff always present so no Argy bargy. Music is good, good place to have a lively night out in Dunfermline. Toilets could do with a good clean though.
Gorgeous apartment and the service has been brilliant. We will definitely be booking again. Thanks
