About This Pub
Ah, Somewhere Else Bar in Dunfermline – it's one of those places that feels like a proper local haunt, right in the thick of things in this historic town. From what I've gathered, the food really shines for the most part; think delicious bar lunches and meals that folks rave about, leaving plates clean and bellies full. The drink options are spot on too, with a nice mix of drafts, spirits, and local brews that make it easy to settle in for a chat. And if you're up for some fun, their events like quiz nights or Saturday discos add a bit of sparkle to the mix. It's got that welcoming, cosy vibe that makes you want to linger. On the flip side, though, it's not all smooth sailing – I've seen mentions of meals that just didn't hit the mark, like one that was described as tasting really stale, which is a shame when you're looking forward to a good feed. Service can be a mixed bag; sometimes it's friendly and quick, but other times it feels a bit off, like when they weren't sure about mixing a simple cocktail. Plus, it can get nippy inside, so you might need to layer up. All in all, it's a solid spot for a casual get-together or a bite after shopping, but I'd say go in with an open mind – the good bits often outweigh the bad, especially if you catch it on a good day.

Just came here to eat; possibly the worst meal if I've had in Scotland.
Do not have the minute steak panini.
Just tasted really old and not fresh at all.
A group of us just left the majority of our food and left ad it tasted so bad.
Avoid.
Quiet when I was in, but barmaid was friendly, and beer was ok, probably busier at night.🍺🇬🇧🤠
Dark pub. Got seated right away, with our toddler. Kids menu available. Was empty when we arrived; despite that the service was prompt but not personable at all. Asked for a mojito and they were unsure how to make it... was not very strong.
Food was very good though for us - burger and chicken goujons. Son got a pizza which was mediocre.
Bathroom was a climb upstairs with small stalls.
Would recommend for the food. Could appreciate a more fun atmosphere when it is full.
Stopped in for a bar lunch while out shopping. Got seated no problem, and menus brought over. Drinks order done, tea and diluted orange. Food arrived 10 mins later, steak pie, chips and veg. Was really good and both plates cleaned up. No desserts this time.
only downside was it was cold inside and kept my coat on while eating but it wont stop me from going back as everything else was good.
Very nice wee pub to have a meal in Dunfermline. We had our lunch in the bar downstairs. There are tables available upstairs too. It's a small cosy bar but big enough not to feel crowded whilst eating. The food that was served to us was exceptional. One of the best bar lunches we have had in a while couldn't fault any of it, the steak pie (stew with a pastry on top) tasted great, with really nice chunks of lean meat, no fat or gristle. The server was polite, prompt, and well presented. Customer toilets are upstairs.
