About This Pub
Ah, The Guildhall & Linen Exchange – it's one of those reliable Wetherspoon spots that always delivers when you're after a straightforward, enjoyable time. From what I've gathered from folks' experiences, the food is a real highlight; whether it's a hearty breakfast, a quick lunch, or sharing some small plates, there's plenty of choice to suit all tastes, and it's all at prices that won't break the bank. The staff come across as genuinely helpful, adding to that cosy, relaxed feel in what must be a beautifully historic building. It's in a handy spot too, making it easy to nip in before or after exploring the area. On the flip side, it does get mobbed at times, so you might find yourself hunting for a seat or waiting a bit longer than you'd like, and while it's solid, it doesn't always stand out from the crowd of other Spoons pubs. All in all, if you're looking for a no-fuss place to grab a bite and a bevvy with mates, it's worth a visit – just aim to go a tad earlier to beat the rush!

-

-
The atmosphere is lovely, with a historic building that adds a real charm and a relaxed vibe that's just what you want from a good pub.
-
It's conveniently located in the city centre with long opening hours, so you can pop in early for breakfast or stay late for a drink.
Cons
-
It can get pretty packed, especially during peak times, which might mean waiting around for a table or dealing with a bit of a crowd.
-
As a typical Wetherspoon spot, it might not feel all that unique compared to others in the chain, so if you're after something more distinctive, it could disappoint.

Been in for food and for drinks on a night out. Always enjoy our meals whether it be breakfast, lunch, dinner. Love the choice and often order the small plates menu deal as it is great choice and various options to have few different things to eat rather than just one meal. Great for sharing between friends. Kids enjoy it too and plenty options for them to choose from, staff are always very accomadating and friendly with young kids.
For a night out drinks are well priced and my friends and I often enjoy the cocktail jugs and shots as such well priced so often order a few jugs to share between us when out onstead of individual cocktails. Well priced compared to other places in town.
Staff are always friendly and offer good service. Toilets etc always nice and clean although sometimes wish they weren't so far away as downstairs. There is a disabled toilet and baby changing facility on top floor and key can be obtained from behind the bar. Lift available if not sitting in bar area attaller table sas there are few steps up to lower tables in eating area. Tea and coffee wtc are self service and easy used, love that you get free refills and always well stocked with bits needed.
Standard witherspoons experience cheap food and drink and overall good quality. Staff are always really helpful and you can't beat it fir a cheap quick snack.
I had a lovely experience at The Guildhall & Linen Exchange - JD Wetherspoon. From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was welcoming and relaxed. The building itself has a unique charm, blending historic character with the familiar, comfortable vibe you expect from a Wetherspoon.
The staff were friendly and attentive throughout my visit, making sure everything was just right without being overbearing. Ordering via the app was smooth and efficient, and the food arrived quickly. I opted for a classic pub meal and was genuinely impressed with the quality, portion size, and value for money. Everything was hot, well-presented, and tasted great.
The drink selection was also excellent, with a good range of beers, ales, and soft drinks, all at very reasonable prices. It’s clear they take pride in maintaining a clean, inviting space – everything from the tables to the restrooms was spotless.
Overall, it was a thoroughly enjoyable experience. Whether you're looking for a quick bite, a casual drink, or just a relaxed place to unwind, The Guildhall & Linen Exchange delivers. I’d happily return and would definitely recommend it to others looking for a solid Wetherspoon experience with a bit of extra charm.
Really recommend
A usual "spoons" in Dunfermline City Centre. It was very busy during my visit, with very few tables unoccupied. There was the usual choice of multiple real ales and other drinks available. It took me around 20 minutes to walk to East End Park for the football. I will visit again if I'm in Dunfermline! 👍
We had lunch there. Nice food. Two main meals cost £22 with a drink each. Earlier the better as it can get busy.
