About This Pub

Ah, The Bird or Worm? – what a quirky spot in Cambridge! I've got to say, it's one of those places that really hits the mark for a casual get-together; the menu is packed with fresh, tasty options that cater to all sorts, whether you're after a hearty salad bowl or something more adventurous like their miso rice dish. The vibe inside is just spot on – relaxed, clean, and with decor that's intriguingly put together, making it easy to settle in for a chat. The team behind the bar are an absolute delight, always up for a friendly word and making sure everything runs smoothly, which really adds to the whole experience. On the flip side, though, I've heard a couple of tales about the opening hours not quite matching up to what's listed, so it's probably wise to give them a quick ring before you pop over, especially if you're aiming for a late-night stop. Overall, it's a gem worth visiting for good grub and a laid-back atmosphere, but just keep those little niggles in mind to avoid any disappointments – I'd definitely recommend giving it a go if you're in the area!

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The food is absolutely spot on – think delicious salads, bowls, and burgers with plenty of vegan and veggie options to suit all tastes, like that tasty halloumi Caesar or the falafel bowl.
  • The atmosphere is really chilled and inviting, with great decor that makes you feel right at home, perfect for a relaxed catch-up over drinks.
  • The staff are top-notch, always polite, engaging, and welcoming, making you feel like a valued regular from the get-go.
  • They've got a solid selection of drinks, including great coffee and what sounds like some cracking cocktails to try out.
Cons
  • Opening hours can be a bit unreliable at times, so it's worth double-checking before you head out, as one experience had the doors locked earlier than advertised.
  • With only a handful of reviews highlighting any issues, it seems like service might occasionally fall short, but that's based on that one off-putting visit.
  • The place is only open five days a week, which could be a downside if you're planning a spontaneous weekend outing.

I really wanted to go in as I didn't know what type of business this was and it's so intriguingly decorated on the outside. So glad I did! Really chilled bar, that serves great coffee. Such lovely staff, treated like a valued customer. I want to go back try the cocktails and the food looks awesome. We had a relaxing break from a busy day, recommended.

Not Open when advertised. Both on Google and the Opening hours on the wall states on Fridays this establishment is open until 11pm. I tried to give this business my custom at 10pm, and to my surprise the door was locked!
