About This Pub

You know, when you step into The Dobblers Inn, it's like popping round to a mate's house for a catch-up – the staff are dead welcoming, and the whole place has this cosy, community feel that's hard to beat. I love how they've kept things affordable, with pints and meals like the governor pizza or a massive Sunday roast that won't set you back much, making it ideal for a casual night without the hassle. It's spot on for sports enthusiasts too, with live action on the telly and a pool table to join in the fun, plus quiz nights that add a bit of spark. On the downside, it does have that typical pub charm, which means it's not exactly groundbreaking if you're in the mood for something a tad more sophisticated, and the menu sticks to the classics without much variety. All in all, it's a solid choice for anyone wanting a genuine, down-to-earth spot in Cambridge to unwind and enjoy good company – I'd say give it a go if you're after a no-fuss pint and a laugh.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, making you feel right at home from the moment you walk in.
  • Prices are spot on for a good night out – affordable beers and tasty food options like pizzas, chips, and hearty Sunday roasts without breaking the bank.
  • It's a brilliant spot for sports fans, with live screenings of football, cricket, and more, plus fun extras like a pool table and quiz nights to keep things lively.
  • The atmosphere is warm and community-oriented, where you can chat with locals or catch up with old mates over a pint.
  • They've got a lovely beer garden for those sunny days, adding a nice outdoor touch to the experience.
Cons
  • It has that classic local pub vibe, which might feel a bit ordinary if you're after something more unique or upscale.
  • Food choices are mostly straightforward pub fare, so if you're looking for fancy dining options, it could come across as limited.
  • Based on the reviews, it's not always buzzing with events, so quieter nights might not suit everyone seeking constant excitement.

Friendly local pub with a beer garden. Not green king like most pubs in cambridge so cheaper beer. Foods is very affordable we usually go for the governor pizza and chips and chilli. Shows football and has a pool table.

Lone traveller came to enjoy new mates old local. Mary and Steve were a hoot, proper locals with great chat. Lady behind the bar served with a smile and drinks were not overpriced. Had a great time over the hour before having to walk up the road to the train station

Love the Dobblers good friendly atmosphere. Food is very tasty and good value for money. Meet local people I have know since my childhood there and some I want to school with. Good for people who love to watch football, cricket and horse racing. What I call a good pub.

Argyle on tour!! Just watched our team get stuffed 2 nil. Ah well never mind. ....had to find a pub close by to the Travelodge...and this was it! A typical local pub, there was a pub quiz in full flow and lots of people taking part. I had an Eagle IPA which was excellent and the lads had pints of coke. Very good variety of crisps and peanuts ....so we tucked in. They had a pool table and the lads had a quick game. Nice atmosphere, lots of bikes parked outside.....its difficult getting used to seeing them everywhere as the main means of transport...
