About This Pub

Ah, The Bierkeller Nottingham – it's one of those places that really gets the blood pumping, isn't it? From what I've gathered chatting about it with folks, it's spot on for catching the big games on those giant HD screens with a crowd that's all in for the action, or letting loose at a stag do with live Oompah bands and DJs that have everyone up and dancing. The staff seem to go the extra mile to make you feel welcome, and the food and drinks, like those massive steins and hearty bites, add to the whole Bavarian charm. But let's be honest, it's not everyone's cup of tea; it can turn into a bit of a madhouse on peak nights, with the noise and crowds making it tough for a mellow catch-up. Prices are fair but can mount up if you're there for a session, and if you're after something more low-key, you might find it a tad overwhelming. All in all, though, it's a solid choice for a memorable night out with your mates – just pick the right occasion and you'll have a blast!

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The atmosphere is absolutely buzzing, especially for watching live sports or celebrating with mates – it's got that proper lively vibe with big screens and booming sound.
  • Staff are super friendly and welcoming, making you feel right at home, whether you're there for a stag do or just a casual night out.
  • They've got a great selection of food and drinks, including massive steins of beer and tasty grub, plus fun events like live music and DJs that keep the energy high.
  • It's a fantastic spot for parties and group gatherings, with themed areas like the Biergarten for outdoor fun and immersive sports bars for big matches.
Cons
  • It can get pretty crowded and noisy on busy nights, which might not be ideal if you're after a more relaxed pint and a chat.
  • With a moderate price level, things can add up quickly, especially if you're indulging in those big steins or special event tickets.
  • The focus on parties and sports means it might feel a bit overwhelming for a quiet evening or if you're not in the mood for high-energy entertainment.

What a hidden gem. Went on a stag party and stumbled on downstairs at this place. The German music and "follow the leader" style songs were great. Made to feel welcome. After the German activity there was an amazing musician on, followed by normal DJ. We had planned to only stay for one drink, ended up staying the whole night. Would visit again.

We went there on Saturday night for a stag do I was the best man for. This was 2nd bar on a 5 stop bar crawl… this place was so good the bar crawl was scrapped, we spent the whole night here, the entertainment was fantastic and created the most ideal conditions for a night out I could only have dreamed of, it really exceeded expectations .

Had a great time here for New Year’s Eve with my friends. I had been to a Bierkeller last year at another location and enjoyed it, but the one in Nottingham was really good. The atmosphere was immediately set by the host who sang songs in German and engaged us by getting us to move and cheer at certain parts of the songs. The live music was also great and I enjoyed the songs which were then played by a DJ after midnight. One of my favourite New Year’s Eves! Side note - it might be helpful to have pictures on the drinks menu to show what each drink looks like. There was a mix up of drinks within our group but we sorted it out soon after.
