About This Pub
Ah, Malt Cross, what a delightful spot it is! I've got to say, wandering into this place feels like discovering a hidden treasure in the city centre; it's got that authentic Victorian charm that's just brimming with character, and it's no wonder folks rave about it. The drinks selection is spot on – think excellent real ales and even a Malteasers hot chocolate that's become a bit of a legend – making it ideal for a casual pint or something a bit more indulgent. The food doesn't disappoint either; their pies and Sunday roasts are proper tasty and won't break the bank, which is always a win when you're out with friends. Plus, the staff are genuinely lovely, adding to that warm, welcoming feel that keeps you coming back. On the flip side, though, it can get a bit steamy upstairs on warmer days, almost like you're in a greenhouse, and the music might crank up a notch, making it tricky for a quiet catch-up. It does fill up quickly too, so if you're after a more relaxed vibe, you might want to pop in earlier. All in all, it's a fantastic place for soaking up the community spirit and enjoying some live events, but just keep those little niggles in mind for the best experience.

A lovely space just off the main square, great for a quick drink or a longer stay. The bar staff were friendly and the drinks and coffees we ordered were spot on. We didn’t order food but it looked equally as good.
There’s plenty of seating options from small tables to larger areas. There was a small games library which was nice to see.
Such a cute pub no idea why I have never been in. Their pie was really good and not awfully priced. Pub quiz was mint would have come first if we didn’t have 7 on our team. Also downside is that it was boiling upstairs I felt like I was in a greenhouse. Will be back when it is cooler and I am not gonna melt
Lovely venue, great food, and friendly service. The music was a little bit loud for a family Sunday lunch vibe but otherwise great venue!
Had never been here before somehow but it’s a great old spot which used to be a music hall in nottingham city centre. Good selection on tap, and very busy
Amazing classic british pub that I found in this city. The interior was so unique like a concert hall. They also have a stage in the middle maybe for a live music performance. I tried sunday roast here and was very affordable and quite tasty for me. The price is reasonably good and the waiter was so friendly. They dont have table service so you must find a table first and then go to the counter to book and remember your table.
