About This Pub
Ah, Abbey Road Bar & Kitchen – it's one of those places that just feels like a proper local haunt, tucked away in the heart of Liverpool's Cavern Quarter. From what I've gathered, it's all about that easy-going vibe where you can pop in for a decent meal, grab a cold lager or a cheeky cocktail, and soak up the atmosphere without any fuss. The live music on weekends is a real highlight; it's not every day you get to hear talented local musicians strumming away while you're tucking into some fresh-cooked grub. And if you're a sport fan, they've got the big games on those HD screens, making it a top choice for cheering on your team with a crowd. The staff are genuinely lovely, always up for a chat and making sure everything runs smoothly, which really adds to the charm. On the flip side, it can come across as a bit more low-key than the energetic spots nearby, so if you're in the mood for something more buzzing, you might find it a touch tame. Plus, the opening times can be a bit of a muddle, so it's worth double-checking before you head out. All in all, though, it's a solid spot for a good time – honest, welcoming, and just what you need after a long day, without any pretences.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The atmosphere is absolutely spot on – it's warm and welcoming, perfect for catching up with mates over a pint.
-
They've got live music on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday evenings, featuring some top local talent that really gets the vibe going.
-
Live sport is shown on big HD screens, covering everything from football to boxing, so it's a brilliant spot if you're into watching the game.
-
The food and drinks are fresh and reasonably priced, with a great selection of beers, gins, and cocktails that won't break the bank.
-
Friendly staff who go the extra mile, making you feel right at home, and there's even pool tables for a bit of fun with friends.
Cons
-
It might feel a tad quieter compared to the buzz of nearby Mathew Street, so if you're after a really lively night, it could be a bit more subdued.
-
The operating hours seem a bit inconsistent from what's listed, which might catch you out if you're planning a late one.
-
While the food gets good nods, it's not always the star of the show, so if you're looking for something truly gourmet, you might want to look elsewhere.

Broden and her colleague was brilliant. Fab service, been in here a few times but never to watch the until today. Will be going back
Lovely little bar. Quality atmosphere. Pool tables, live sport, good lager on tap. Also had some lunch it was a brilliant price for the portion size. 10/10 would visit again
A relatively new bar with lots of screens to watch sport, pool tables and some outdoor seating, this bar is worth a visit if you want somewhere a little less lively and more traditional than Castle St or away from the madness of Matthew St.
£32.70 for 5 drinks is also cheaper than Castle St, but more expensive than Matthew St bars, so about right for location and type of bar, as it is not pitching itself against Castle St.
Found a pub in Europe with Coors! Had to stop in! Great place for a drink....or 3! Recommend for some drinks and good coverage of sports, lots of televisions throughout the place! 5 Stars! A++++
