About This Pub

Ah, The Betsey Wynne – it's one of those pubs that just feels like a proper gem in Milton Keynes, you know? From what I've gathered chatting about it, the food is where it really shines; imagine tucking into a massive plate of fish and chips or a hearty burger that's packed with flavour and presented beautifully. The team there are dead helpful too, always up for a chat and making sure everything runs smoothly for events like weddings, which sounds like a dream if you're planning something special. Plus, with easy parking and a cosy decor, it's easy to see why folks keep coming back. But, fair's fair, it's not perfect – there have been a few tales of orders going awry or the odd dish not quite hitting the mark on a second visit, like that creme brulee that didn't quite gel. Still, they seem to handle any slip-ups gracefully, so overall, it's a solid choice for a relaxed meal or a catch-up with mates, as long as you go in with realistic expectations.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The food is absolutely spot on – think generous portions of tasty dishes like fish and chips or eggs benedict that really hit the spot.
  • The staff are so friendly and attentive, making you feel right at home without hovering too much.
  • It's a brilliant spot for special occasions, with great options for weddings and celebrations, plus a lovely decor that adds to the vibe.
  • Plenty of on-site parking makes it easy to pop in, and they've got a wide range of menus including breakfast, kids' options, and even bottomless brunch.
Cons
  • There can be the occasional mix-up with orders, like getting the wrong meal, though they do make it right with free drinks or similar.
  • Quality might vary a bit between visits, as some folks have mentioned not every experience is as stellar as the first.
  • A few desserts, such as the creme brulee, haven't always lived up to expectations in terms of consistency.

Tuesday afternoon brunch. Had eggs benny & husband had meatball panino. Absolutely delicious. Lots of parking. Been twice more since original review but u fortunately they haven’t been so great. On the second visit our order was incorrect & wr received a round of drink free to compensate. On the third time part of my muffin on the eggs benny was burnt. My daughter’s bread on her chopped avocado was hard & egg was cold but plate burning hot. People after us received their food before. No one asked how our experience. The restaurant area did seem busy for lunch.

Came here in December for a Christmas dinner and it was really nice. The food was so tasty especially the fish and chips. The portion sizes were huge, but I didn't really fancy the dessert (creme brulee). The consistency of it was not great. I loved the decor and awesome that there is onsite parking 😍 It is a bit tucked away in the village and a narrow road to drive but fresh produce makes it all great tasting. The toilets were not that clean as well. They have great spaces and seating areas inside and outside the building. Extensive menu available to include vegetarian & vegan options. Would I visit again. Yes, probably for the food and lovely service 😊

I just had a meal that truly hit the spot! The fish and chips were fantastic—great taste, generous portion, and perfectly presented. The service was spot on too; everyone was super friendly and attentive without being overbearing. I also loved the Pollo Picante and the bacon & cheddar burger, both dishes were top-notch. Can’t wait for my next visit!

What can I say, we had the absolute amazing time. We held our wedding at The Betsey Wynne on 7th Dec 24. Leading up to the day, communications were excellent, giving bridal advice. We had a number of quirky requests which they were able to acomodate. Andreea and her team were amazing. We decorated the venue ourselves in the morning leaving the team to finish off whilst we returned to get ready. The room was beautiful. Once ceremony had taken place the room was redecorated for dinner. The 45mins was so quick and again stunning. It was all hands on deck. Food, drinks and such friendly staff is a credit to the restaurant. We couldn't fault it!! It's the intimate atmosphere that makes The Betsey Wynne a beautiful wedding venue.
