About This Pub
Ah, The Nut and Squirrel – it's one of those pubs that just feels like a proper British gem in Milton Keynes, you know? From what I've gathered from folks' experiences, it's got this cosy, inviting atmosphere that's spot on for catching up with mates or grabbing a bite after exploring the local sights. The food really stands out; people rave about the tasty dishes, like that Peri Peri Chicken, and it's all at a fair price, especially if you've got a voucher to sweeten the deal. The team there are top-notch too – always ready to lend a hand, whether it's moving your table or suggesting something new on the menu. It's clear they've put in the effort to make it welcoming for all, with options for kids and veggies, and it's nice and accessible. But, let's be honest, it's not flawless; the lighting can be a bit off in spots, making things feel a touch dark, and some of the seating's starting to look a bit worn, which might not be the comfiest for a long sit. Overall, though, it's a solid choice for a relaxed evening – I'd say give it a go if you're in the area, as the good bits far outweigh the minor downsides, and you'll likely leave with a smile.

We were a little late for our table due to theatre running over but they were very accommodating. Lighting wasn’t great but they moved our table for us. Food came quickly and was absolutely delicious. We had a voucher which made it great value. Service was fab. A lovely evening. Thank you!
Popped into The Nut and Squirrel for a midweek dinner with my partner, and it turned out to be a great choice. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, with a cozy pub vibe that made us feel right at home.
I ordered the Peri Peri Chicken Skewer, and it was delicious—tender chicken with just the right amount of spice, served alongside a fresh salad . My partner went for the Apple & Cinnamon Pie for dessert, which was indulgent and perfectly spiced . The portions were generous, and the prices were reasonable, making it a satisfying meal overall.
The staff were attentive and friendly, ensuring we had everything we needed without being intrusive. It's clear they take pride in providing good service.
The only reason I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is that the menu, while offering some tasty options, could benefit from a bit more variety to cater to different tastes. Nonetheless, it's a solid spot for a casual meal, and we'll definitely be returning to try more of their offerings.
Came here just before Christmas 2024, really enjoyed the food and atmosphere. The staff are top quality and always making sure everything is satisfactory. When ordering food on numerous occasions, I have had food recommendations by different staff, always gone with that recommendation at the time and never have I been disappointed. Since then, I have come here at least once a month and sometimes more and will continue to do so into the future.
Well done to the management and staff.
I visited this pub some 8 years ago and wasn't impressed at all. Today I returned and the difference was just astonishing! Nice friendly staff, nothing was to much trouble and very wheelchair friendly 😀. Clean and tidy, relaxing atmosphere and good food at a good price . Definitely will be returning and encouraging family members to pay a visit. Keep up the good work guys and we'll done ✔️
Very good meal. Great service. Staff very helpful and knowledgeable. The pub needs a little bit of work done. Like seats. But this doesn't stop the lovely staff and great food. Very good menu and prices are from 10.00 a maal. Two lovely men on duty nothing too much for them well done to both the Daniels, see you again soon.
