About This Pub

Ah, The Albion – it's one of those classic London pubs that you hear about and think, 'That sounds like a proper good spot for a pint.' From what I've gathered chatting about it with friends, it's got this lovely, welcoming feel with a quiet, cosy atmosphere that's just right for kicking back after a long day. The food really stands out too; those burgers and pizzas are spot on, with generous portions and flavours that'll make you go back for more. And the decor? Brilliant – all those old photos of bands from back in the day add a fun, nostalgic touch that gets everyone chatting. But, let's be honest, it's not all roses; there was this recent incident where the manager jumped in and disrupted a group's evening, which sounds a bit off and could spoil things if you're not lucky. Still, with an overall rating of 4.2 from heaps of reviews, it's clear most folks have a great time here. If you're heading out for a beer or a bite, I'd say give it a go – just go in with an open mind and maybe avoid peak times if you're after a seamless experience.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The atmosphere is absolutely cosy and quiet, making it a perfect spot for a relaxed catch-up with mates over a pint.
  • They serve up some cracking food options, like delicious burgers and pizzas that hit the spot every time.
  • The decor is spot on, with brilliant photos of iconic bands from the 60s, 70s, and 80s on the walls, adding a real touch of nostalgia.
  • The staff can be really welcoming, creating that warm pub vibe that makes you feel right at home.
Cons
  • There was a recent run-in where the manager interrupted a group's conversation, which left a bit of a sour taste and could put a damper on your evening.
  • The website is pretty basic and doesn't offer much detail, so you might have to just pop in to get the full picture.
  • It seems like they only open six days a week, which might not suit everyone if you're after a spontaneous Sunday session.

Me and some friends went in to the pub for a drink and sat at a small table at the back, when a second small table was free we joined them together. The second table was a heavy most likely meant to be outdoors type table with a metal base. The manager came over and interrupted our conversation and rudely had a go at us, talking to us like we were children, and having a go at us for moving the table. Demanding we put it back when we left. We assured her we always intended to put it back but she continued to berate up. She had no manners nor bothered to ask us politely to move it back when we were done. If the table is so heavy you and your staff don’t like moving it and people do and dont put it back then replace it with a lighter one, but dont be rude to customers and have a bad attitude when all we did was move a table. Update: Thank you for your apology, good to know your working on improving your manners ☺️

Good old pub on the Hammersmith Road. BeeGees playing in the in the background, lovely pub. Lovely people-a great place for a beer or two. + The photos on the wall if all the great bands/ groups of the 60/70/80s, fantastic. Also, the spiral staircase leading to more drinking space. Wonderful.

Excellent place for a drink and some really good food. The burgers are wonderful. Very tasty with good portions. Veggie burger also available. The pizza is exceptional ( and this from a Jersey girl!). Great crust, yummy big slices of pepperoni, and kalamata olives. *swoon*. Wonderful atmosphere and great service. What more could you want?

T'was a frosty cold December evening last Friday evening in London Towne. I've had 100s of layovers here in London over the last 15 years as a cabin crew member. This was my 1st time coming to this beautiful and classic pub. Festive Cheers to all of the lovely Albion staff for an exceptional welcome and visit to your delightful cozy pub last Friday evening. Thank you for the warm woodburning fire in the fireplace, delicious food, and hospitality & delightful conversation. Wishing you and the staff a blessed Christmas, and a safe and healthy New Year.🎄✈️🇬🇧🙏 Looking forward to another visit in the New Year.
