About This Pub

Ah, Latymers in Hammersmith – it's one of those places that feels like a proper local gem, where you can pop in for a pint and end up enjoying some cracking Thai food. From what I've gathered from the reviews, the food really shines with its authentic tastes and hearty portions; folks rave about the curries and noodles that bring a bit of Thailand right to West London. The drinks menu is another highlight, offering unique craft beers and cocktails that add a fun twist to your night out. Service tends to be spot on too, with staff who are genuinely friendly and make you feel right at home. But, let's be honest, it's not all smooth sailing – there have been a few complaints about dishes not being cooked properly, like underdone meat, and that service charge can sting if you're left to your own devices. Prices might make you think twice as well, especially if you're after a few rounds. All in all, it's a great spot for a casual get-together, as long as you go in with realistic expectations and maybe check those opening times first – I'd say it's worth a visit for the good bits, but keep an eye out for the occasional slip-up.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The Thai food is absolutely spot on – authentic flavours and generous portions that really hit the mark, like those delicious curries and noodles.
  • Service is generally warm and efficient, with staff being friendly and quick to sort you out, making for a pleasant visit.
  • They've got a cracking selection of drinks, including unique Thai craft beers and cocktails that you won't find everywhere.
  • The atmosphere is cosy and inviting, perfect for a good chat over a meal, whether it's a quiet Sunday or a busier evening.
Cons
  • Some dishes can fall short, like undercooked meat in the dim sum or tofu that's a bit off, which might leave you disappointed.
  • There's a service charge that feels a tad cheeky if no one's popping by to check on you during your meal.
  • Prices are on the higher side, especially for drinks like beer, so it might stretch the budget a bit more than expected.
  • Kitchen hours don't always match up with what's listed online, which could mean waiting around or missing out on food.

Tried the Thai kitchen inside the pub and honestly, left pretty underwhelmed. The dim sum meat inside wasn’t properly cooked — I didn’t eat it. Pad Thai was passable, but the tofu was oddly wet and spongy. What really got me? A £3.50 service charge — despite no one checking on me the entire 1.5 hours I was there. Had someone come by, I would’ve flagged the dim sum issue. For £30, I would’ve expected really delicious, standout Thai — not undercooked dim sum and soggy tofu.

Modernised British pub offering Thai food Food : authentic Thai flavour Service: friendly with good balance Drink: offer Thai craft beer on draft which never found anywhere else. Beer price is slightly pricier. Atmosphere : clientele and dining room is comfortable and a good place to chat with friends

Food at Thai Kitchen at The Latymers was delicious with good portion. I had beef noodles soup (£15) which was tasty after I added some condiments. The service was quick and I liked the atmosphere. It was busy towards 1 pm, but I don’t think a booking is essential.

I had a chicken massamam curry with coconut rice. It was absolutely delicious. The restaurant was very authentic, waitress was polite and the food was served very quickly. The menu was varied with a lot of selection. I would definitely go back again to try other dishes. It was quiet on a Sunday afternoon which was pleasant and uninterrupted with loud music or big crowds so I would say the atmosphere was relaxing.

Visited 17/01/25. Came in for lunch as on Google, the restaurant was opened and serving food. When we got there, we found out that the kitchen didn’t open until 5:30. So we decided to wait and have some cocktails until the night staff arrived. I ordered a Porn Star Martini with Kyra who was very pleasant and friendly and whose shift ended. I ordered a French Kiss Martini, which I did not like the taste of, I took one sip and asked the blonde girl behind the bar if it was ok if I swapped out that drink and just had another Porn Star. The blonde girl asked with attitude “what did you not like”, I replied “I did not like the taste of it”. She was awkward, rude and shouldn’t be behind the bar with a poor personality, representing the hospitality of this restaurant. Good hospitality and customer service would’ve replied “no problem, we’ll make you another drink”. This was the most awful hospitality experience I had while being in London. While I walking away from the bar, the girl was talking about me to the male bartender. They overcharged us on our order, did not remove the drink that didn’t taste good. Not friendly towards Americans at all and handled conducting business extremely poorly. While the food served is Thai, the respect of a hospitable business was represented in dishonor of Thai culture. Would never recommend any Americans to eat, drink, or step foot in the door here after my encounter.
