About This Pub

Ah, Swift's – what a gem of a pub in Bootle! From what I've gathered from the reviews, it's got that timeless appeal of a classic British boozer, where you can pop in for a cheap ale and end up chatting away with the regulars. The drinks are reasonably priced, which is always a winner for us lot who appreciate a good value pint, and the staff sound like they're dead welcoming, making it easy to settle in. Plus, if you're a footie fan, it's brilliant for watching the big games on the telly – think Liverpool derbies and all that excitement. The atmosphere really shines through in the feedback; it's got that warm, community feel without any of the outdated hassles, like it was back in the day but with a fresh twist. On the flip side, though, one review mentioned struggling to reach management about an issue, which is a bit of a shame and might leave you hanging if something goes wrong. And with no website listed, it's not the easiest place to check out beforehand – you might just have to take a chance and drop by. Overall, it's a solid choice for a laid-back evening, especially if you're in the area, but it'd be even better with a tad more online visibility to sort out any niggles. I'd say give it a go if you're after an authentic pub experience without the fancy frills.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The drinks are really affordable, like getting a good pint without breaking the bank – perfect for a casual night out.
  • It's got that warm, welcoming old-school pub vibe, where everyone feels at home, even if you're new to the place.
  • The staff are super friendly and always up for a chat, making you feel right at ease as soon as you walk in.
  • Great spot for catching the footie or any sports on the telly, especially if you're into Liverpool or Everton matches.
  • The atmosphere is lively and inclusive, with a nice crowd that makes it feel like a proper community hub.
Cons
  • It's a bit tricky to get in touch with the folks running the place, which could be frustrating if you need to sort something out.
  • With no website or online presence to speak of, it might be hard to find out more details before heading over.
  • The review count is on the smaller side, so it doesn't have that buzz of a super popular spot just yet.

Hi there, just a quick one, I don’t know how to contact anyone from your bar, I have something serious that I’d like to address with management or the owner, so if you could get back to me with a way of contacting yourselves that would be great!

An old, old fashioned, pub. Clientele love the place and welcomed my group of outsiders as friends. The atmosphere has all the upsides of a pub fifty years ago (good drink, low prices, friendliness, warmth) with none of the downsides (smoke). I only went to humour my mate who wanted to see it, and wouldn’t have missed it for the world. Go have a drink or two.
