Station East in Gateshead

Ah, Station East, what a lovely spot it is – I've got to say, it's one of those places that just makes you feel right at home from the moment you walk in. The beers are spot on, with a fantastic range of locally brewed ales and ciders that really showcase the best of what Hadrian Border Brewery has to offer; it's clear they've put their heart into every brew. The staff are an absolute delight, always up for a chat and making sure you're looked after, which adds such a welcoming touch to the whole experience. Then there's the character of the place itself – that arch-shaped room with its exposed brickwork gives it this charming, historic vibe that's hard to beat, and the regular lineup of events like music nights and food festivals keeps the energy high without it feeling overwhelming. On the flip side, though, the hours can be a tad unpredictable, especially on Sundays, so you might want to plan ahead to avoid any disappointment. It does get packed during busier times, which is great for the atmosphere but not so much if you're after a peaceful pint, and the location in Gateshead might not suit everyone, but if you're local or up for a bit of an adventure, it's well worth the trip. All in all, it's a solid choice for a relaxed evening or a fun gathering with friends – I'd definitely pop in again for another round!
