About This Pub
Ah, Spinners Arms – what a gem of a place tucked away in Chorley. From the reviews I've had a look at, it's clear this spot really shines when it comes to hearty, comforting grub, particularly their Sunday roasts that sound like a proper treat; imagine tucking into perfectly cooked meat with all the trimmings, and it's got people raving about how satisfying it is. The service stands out too – the team there seem genuinely chuffed to have you, making sure everything runs smoothly and you're looked after, which is just what you want on a lazy afternoon out. It's a clean, nicely done-up space that feels welcoming without being over the top, ideal for a casual pint or a bite with friends. That said, it's not all perfect; one review mentioned a dish like the king prawns falling a bit flat, so there might be the occasional slip-up that leaves you wanting more. Still, with such high praise overall, I'd say it's well worth a visit if you're after a reliable spot for good food and a chat – just maybe play it safe with the roasts if you're feeling peckish!
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The food is absolutely spot on, especially their Sunday roasts – think tender beef or lamb, crispy roast potatoes, and a massive, fluffy Yorkshire pudding that hits the spot every time.
-
Service is top-notch; the staff are incredibly welcoming and go the extra mile to make you feel at home, whether you're popping in for a quick pint or a full meal.
-
It's a lovely, well-decorated spot that's kept exceptionally clean, with a warm and inviting atmosphere that makes it perfect for a relaxed catch-up with mates.
-
Great selection of beers and drinks behind the bar, so you're spoilt for choice if you're just in for a drink or something to nibble on.
-
The owner really adds to the charm, being so friendly and ensuring everyone feels right at ease from the moment they walk in.
Cons
-
Some dishes might not quite hit the mark, like the king prawns in that thin milky chilli sauce, which one person found a bit underwhelming and not up to expectations.
-
There could be the odd inconsistency in food quality, as not every meal seems to be a winner based on the experiences shared.

Popped in here for a bit of food and a pint on a whim whilst cycling through the canal. What a great decision - it's a lovely, well decorated and catered for place, clientele seemed nice, staff and service were superb and the food was quality. The owner was very welcoming and made me feel right at home - laid back but attentive and warm. I'll definitely be coming back this way and stopping off again, great experience.
Absolutely spot on — one of the best Sunday roasts I’ve had in ages. The beef was tender and full of flavor, the roasties were perfectly crispy, and the Yorkshire pudding was massive and fluffy. Rich gravy tied it all together beautifully. Pure comfort food done right.Absolutely amazing service, thank you
My wife and I recently took our disabled daughter here for her birthday meal, and while we were grateful for the staff's helpfulness in accommodating us despite our late arrival, our dining experience did not meet our expectations.
To start, I ordered the king prawns in a thin milky chilli sauce. Unfortunately, the prawns were overcooked and tough, which made them less enjoyable than I had hoped. For our main course, we all opted for the beef stroganoff. Regrettably, the beef was similarly tough and chewy, making it difficult to enjoy. The sauce was disappointingly thin and lacked flavour, and the rice served alongside was watery, further detracting from the overall meal experience.
While the staff were friendly and accommodating, the quality of the food left much to be desired. I hope this feedback can help improve the dining experience for future guests.
Lovely roast at The Spinners, one of my favourite country pubs!
My go-to meat is always beef or lamb, I had lamb this visit and it was cooked perfectly.

Popped in for a pint and shared a bowl of chips. Quiet, but we were told is was about to get busy. Lovely service from the staff. The place was exceptionally clean, nothing felt tacky! Great selection of beers and bottles behind the bar. We'll be back.
