About This Pub

Ah, the Derby Arms – it's one of those pubs that just feels like a proper local gem in Chorley, you know? From the moment you step in, you're greeted with this amazing atmosphere that really lifts your spirits, and the staff are an absolute delight, always up for a chat and making sure you're looked after. I love how they've got tasty pints on offer and a big screen for catching the big games, plus it's spot on for families or throwing a party, with all sorts of events and weekly deals to keep things exciting. On the flip side, it's a bit on the small side, so it can get cosy to the point of feeling a tad squished when it's lively, and the hours aren't always straightforward – some days they don't kick off until the afternoon, which means you have to time your visit just right. All in all, it's a cracking place for a good night out, but it's worth popping in when it's not too hectic to really enjoy what it does best.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The atmosphere is absolutely brilliant and always puts a smile on your face, making it a real treat to visit.
  • Friendly staff and a welcoming landlady who go out of their way to make everyone feel right at home.
  • Tasty pints and a cosy vibe that's perfect for relaxing with mates or watching live sports on the big screen.
  • It's family-friendly, allowing children in, which makes it ideal for casual meet-ups or even family events.
  • They host great nights out, parties, and special offers, turning it into a fantastic spot for celebrations.
Cons
  • It's a small pub, so it can feel a bit cramped during busier times, which might not suit everyone.
  • The opening hours vary a fair bit, like starting later on some days, so you might need to plan ahead to catch them open.

This is a nice quiet pub. It's not very big but that's not necessarily a bad thing! It also allows children in so is ideal for families to meet for a drink or to watch football etc on their big screen.
