About This Pub

Ah, Simmons Bar, it's one of those places that really captures the spirit of a good night out in central London – think cracking cocktails, a playlist that gets your toes tapping, and events like karaoke or Pride parties that add a real spark. From what folks are saying, the drinks menu is a winner, especially with those happy hour steals that make everything from spirits to wine feel like a bargain, and it's spot on for everything from a casual catch-up to a full-on celebration. The vibe is just right, whether you're after a laid-back chill or something more upbeat with DJs spinning tunes. But, let's keep it real, there are times when the service doesn't quite match up – a few mentions of slow responses or drinks not hitting the mark can put a slight dampener on things, particularly if you're in a rush. Still, with an overall stellar rating and plenty of rave reviews about the friendly faces behind the bar when they're at their best, I'd say it's well worth a visit for anyone looking for a fun, affordable spot, as long as you're prepared for the odd hiccup on busier evenings.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The cocktails are absolutely spot on, with a cracking selection and brilliant deals like 2 for 1 during happy hour – perfect for keeping things affordable and fun.
  • The atmosphere is lively and welcoming, with great music, live DJs, and events like karaoke or Pride celebrations that make it ideal for a cheeky night out with mates.
  • It's versatile for all sorts of occasions, whether it's an after-work unwind, a date, or a group gathering, and the vibe always seems to hit the right note.
  • Staff can be brilliant when they're on form, offering attentive and charismatic service that really elevates the experience.
  • Happy hour runs from 4pm to 9pm most days, with wallet-friendly prices on drinks, making it a go-to for a relaxed evening without breaking the bank.
Cons
  • Service can sometimes be a bit slow or inattentive, especially if it's not too busy, which might leave you waiting longer than you'd like at the bar.
  • There might be occasional slip-ups with drinks, like a spicy margarita that doesn't quite deliver on the spice, so it's not always perfect.
  • It can get quite packed during peak times, potentially making it feel a tad overwhelming or hard to find a spot.

Cute little place with a nice wide selection of drinks, cocktails, and a good playlist. It’s a nice vibe to chill out after work, and great place for a date.

If you’re looking for a place with character, great drinks, and a bartender who knows exactly what they’re doing, Simmons is it. From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere hits you—cool, laid-back, with just enough edge to keep things interesting. Whether you’re coming in solo or with a group, it always feels welcoming. Now let’s talk about the drinks—strong, well-balanced, and consistently top-tier. No watered-down cocktails here. You can tell they put care into every pour, and they don’t skimp. The selection is solid too, with everything from classics to more inventive specials, all crafted with real attention to flavor. But what really makes the experience is the bartender. Friendly, fast, and genuinely great at their craft. They keep the energy up behind the bar, remember your order after one round, and somehow manage to make everyone feel like a regular. You don’t always get that kind of vibe in a city full of cookie-cutter spots. Simmons nails that sweet spot between chill and lively. It’s the kind of place you can start your night or end it—either way, you’ll leave already planning your next visit

Mason and Jordan absolutely killed it! Their service was beyond amazing—super attentive, hilarious, and full of charisma. They truly made the whole experience unforgettable! The place is fantastic, the drinks are top-tier, and with service like this, there’s no way I’m not coming back. Simply outstanding! Highly, highly recommend!

I liked the music they played here, but the service was unfortunately not good. There were few people in the bar when we visited. We went to the counter to order but it took a long time before anyone even made an effort to make eye contact. Anyway we ordered some spicy margaritas and when making the drink one of the bartenders started the drink and put most of the ingredients in, for example the spice element. Another bartender takes over and adds even more spice to the cocktail. The first bartender tells the second one that she already added that and that it would probably be too spicy. The second bartender just shrugged his shoulders and served the drinks anyway. They were still drinkable(but not as good as you would have wanted them), but the arrogance from the second bartender was really annoying.

Simmons is a one of the best bars in London and never disappoints! I recommend the happy hour (2 for 1) then stay for when it turns into a club vibe. Simmons is a great venue for any occasion for example birthday, work outing, hen/ stag night, girls or lads spontaneous night out. The staff are always friendly and offer great service. There are many locations across London but the venue has to be the best due to the size, good amount of seating and dance floor with balcony DJ.
