About This Pub
Ah, the Flying Horse – what a treat it is, tucked away as the last standing pub on Oxford Street with over 200 years of history behind it. I have to say, it's got that warm, traditional British pub feel that just draws you in, especially if you're after a solid pint or a cheeky cocktail from their impressive lineup. From what I've gathered from the reviews, folks really appreciate the relaxed vibe and how it encourages a bit of banter, like when one group ended up chatting away with strangers at their table – pure pub magic! It's spot on for a pre-theatre stop or a casual catch-up in the city centre. On the flip side, though, it's a shame they don't offer food, so you might need to pop elsewhere if you're hungry. And do keep in mind that the back area can be a bit off-putting with smells from the toilets, plus there's that odd mention of a staff member who seems a bit grumpy, which could sour the experience. Overall, it's a solid choice for a drink and a laugh, but go in with realistic expectations and you'll likely have a cracking time.

-
It's centrally located, making it an ideal spot for a quick pint before heading to nearby theatres or just exploring the city.
Cons

They don't serve food, which might leave you a bit peckish if you're after a full meal alongside your drinks.
-
Some areas, like near the toilets, can have unpleasant smells that might put a damper on your visit.
-
There have been mentions of one staff member with a short temper, which could make the service feel a tad off on certain days.
-
It can get quite busy, especially in such a prime spot, so finding a seat might be a challenge during peak times.

We came in to ask if they had food. They didn’t, but after we had dinner we went back because it looked and felt like a traditional British pub. We had a beer and took a seat. There weren’t that many people but after just a few minutes some other customers sat down at our table and the conversation was great. The bartenders were helpful and very nice.
Really lovely pub with a good choice of beers etc and a chilled atmosphere
Stopped here for Christmas drinks, lovely pub, but would advise not to sit at the back near toilets, horrible smell coming from there. Also one of the workers behind the till has some anger issues.
W1D most central Pub in London :) Great place for a pint or drum of Laphroaig. Usually very busy but good atmosphere.
I thought this was a great watering hole to visit in central London before me and my partner went across to the dominion theatre opposite.
Great selection of beers and ales, and a silly amount of spirits and wines to accommodate most pallets.
The best part of our visit was the downstairs bar which we didn’t know existed until we couldn’t find seats upstairs. We found a nice table down there and watched some sport whilst the tunes were on. Great vibe all round. Would pop in here again.
