About This Pub
Ah, Shenanigans – it's one of those places that really captures the spirit of an authentic Irish pub right here in Liverpool, and I've got to say, it's got a lot going for it. From the moment you step in, you're hit with this warm, friendly vibe, complete with live music and plenty of entertainment that keeps things upbeat and engaging. The food is a standout; think hearty options like their famous Steak and Guinness Pie or the best breakfast in town, all served up with efficient service that makes you feel looked after without any fuss. Plus, with multiple screens for live sports and that rooftop terrace for sunnier days, it's perfect if you're planning a catch-up with mates or even a special event. On the flip side, it does get packed, especially downstairs, so you might have to navigate a bit of a crowd, and the exterior doesn't do it justice – it looks a bit ordinary from the street. Overall, though, it's a solid choice for anyone wanting a good time without breaking the bank, and with such high ratings, it's clear folks keep coming back for more of that unbeatable Guinness and craic.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The atmosphere is absolutely buzzing with live music and entertainment, making it a top spot for a fun night out with friends.
-
They serve up some cracking food, like that homemade Steak and Guinness Pie – it's fresh, tasty, and pairs perfectly with a pint.
-
The staff are attentive and efficient, always ready with a warm welcome and quick service to make you feel right at home.
-
It's got a great central location in Liverpool, close to the Beatles' Mathew Street, and the rooftop terrace is a brilliant spot for events in the summer.
-
Prices are unbeatable for quality drinks, including what they claim is the best Guinness in town, plus a solid selection of non-alcoholic options.
Cons
-
It can get pretty crowded, especially on the ground floor, which might make it a bit tricky if you're after a quiet spot.
-
From the outside, it might look a tad unassuming or like a typical boozer, so it doesn't always give off that inviting vibe at first glance.

Breath taking veggie roast with boats of gravy that the whole of Liverpool could swim in. Looked a little bit of a boozer with groups of men outside, but lovely atmosphere inside, with nice, quirky decor, and attentive and efficient staff. A super eating experience all round.
Tried the food on a Sunday and chose the Steak and Guinness Pie. It was freshly home made with a lattice top and was delicious, accompanied by mash with gravy and of course a pint of Guinness. Sadly I forgot to take a photo but will next time. 👍
Visited here on a Sunday great quirky pub. Friendly staff nice pint of Guinness. Had the home made Steak and Guinness pie with mash and gravy was lovely. Will definitely go again and recommend. 😃👍
Fun little Irish pub in central Liverpool, we came in as a large group and although the ground floor was very crowded, there was a lot of room on the floor above, so despite its small appearance the pub can fit quite a few people!
When we arrived there was live music playing so there was a really good atmosphere!
It might look small in the outside but this place makes up for it on the inside. Best version of a T.A.R.D.I.S ( bigger on the inside). Looking forward to coming again when back on Liverpool
