About This Pub
Ah, the Rose & Crown – it's one of those pubs that just feels like a proper local in the heart of Liverpool, you know? From what I've gathered from the reviews and their website, it's got this lovely, welcoming atmosphere that's perfect for kicking back with a cold pint and catching up on the footie or rugby. The staff really shine through; they're dead friendly and make an effort to look after everyone, like sorting out snacks for special occasions, which adds to that community spirit. Plus, it's super affordable, with some cracking drink deals that won't leave you out of pocket, and being dog-friendly means you can bring the whole family along. On the flip side, though, it does get a bit lively sometimes with a few undesirables popping in, so it might benefit from a bit more security to keep things calm, especially when it's packed. All in all, it's a solid choice for a night out – whether you're after a quiet chat or some karaoke fun – but just keep an eye on the crowd if you're heading in on a busy evening. I'd say it's worth a visit for anyone looking for that authentic pub experience in Liverpool.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The atmosphere is absolutely spot on – it's warm, welcoming, and buzzing, making it a top spot for a casual catch-up or watching the big game.
-
Staff are incredibly friendly and go out of their way to make you feel at home, like when they brought snacks and drinks for a group after a remembrance service.
-
It's dog-friendly, which is brilliant if you're out with your furry mate, and they've got loads of TVs for live sports like football and rugby.
-
Drinks are great value with some unbeatable offers, especially their summer range, and it's all at an inexpensive price point so you won't break the bank.
-
The pub has a real community feel, with things like karaoke nights and quiet evenings where you can actually chat without shouting over the noise.
Cons
-
There can be a few rowdy types wandering in at times, which might spoil the vibe a bit – it could do with some extra door staff to keep things smooth.
-
Service might feel a tad stretched during busier moments, as the young team behind the bar could use a hand managing the crowd.
-
Opening hours vary a little, and while it's generally open late, some days wrap up earlier, so it's worth checking if you're planning a late one.

Great pub with a really good atmosphere
Easy to get served on the ground floor, and a very decent atmosphere with a friendly crowd.
Could use some door staff to help the youngsters out who tend bar, seen too many dickheads wander in.
I was in there with a group of veterans after rememberemce service on Sunday, 10th November. Everyone in the group commented how lovely all staff were, and the good atmosphere in the pub and bringing bams, crisps, and whiskey shots over for them was really appreciated, and they will be returning, thank you.
Nice looking pub, clean toilets and dog friendly. Lots of TVs, so think it's a sports bar. Lucky on Tuesday it's quiet at midday xx
