About This Pub
Ah, the Sea View Inn – it's one of those pubs that just feels like a proper local gem, you know? From what I've gathered from the buzz around it, the staff go out of their way to make you feel at home, and the food is where they really shine, with hearty dishes like massive burgers and pies that are packed with flavour and made from quality local stuff. It's got that cosy, traditional charm that's ideal for sinking a pint or enjoying a meal with the family, and they've sorted options for events that sound like they'd make any gathering memorable. On the downside, it's a tad frustrating that the hours aren't easy to find, and being unclaimed online might mean they're not quite keeping up with the digital side of things, so you might have to pop in or check socials for the latest. All in all, with such high praise from regulars, it's a place I'd recommend for a solid, no-fuss pub experience – just go in with realistic expectations and you're in for a treat.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The staff are absolutely lovely and always so friendly and attentive, making every visit feel warm and welcoming.
-
The food is spot on – think generous portions of delicious, home-cooked meals with locally sourced ingredients that really hit the spot.
-
It's got that classic, cosy pub atmosphere that's perfect for a relaxed catch-up with mates or a family meal.
-
Brilliant for families, with a child-friendly vibe that makes it easy to bring the little ones along.
-
They do a great job with events, offering private spaces and options for buffets or even entertainment like DJs.
Cons
-
The operating hours aren't clearly listed anywhere, which can make it a bit tricky to plan a trip without double-checking first.
-
It's unclaimed on Google, so the management might not be as on top of things online, which could mean missing out on updates.
-
A couple of folks mentioned minor tweaks they'd like with the sides or options, like swapping chips, though it's not a deal-breaker.

Really lovely staff, very friendly. Food was perfect pub grub and they didn't hold back on the portion sizes! We got the chicken burger and the beef burger and they were both massive and spot on, asked if we could have chips instead of fries and they did it no problem and so worth it, the chips were unreal. Shared an Eton mess for dessert which was lovely and refreshing, especially in this weather! Highly recommend!

A delicious meal in a lovely British pub, After seeing the picture on reviews, I chose the Honest Burger which was tasty but would have been much better with the chunky chips served with the minted lamb pie that my wife ordered and was really happy with. Very friendly and helpful staff and my favourite Timothy Taylor Landlord ale on draft.
Had a really good burger here, The Honest Burger... other diners food looked really good. The fish and chips will be next on my list when we go back...
We recently held our small wedding reception here after visiting and enjoying wonderful home made meals and a cosy atmosphere as well as great hospitality in a proper pub that hasn't been ruined! Lee and Vicky were amazing and put us at ease from the start and we had a wonderful, stress free afternoon with our family and friends. Everyone commented on how much they enjoyed the food and the welcome at the sea view and we will be returning again very soon. Thanks so much for everything.
The Sea View has been with the same family for many years. No wonder it continues to maintain such an excellent reputation. Food made on the premises and it shows with the high quality. Never had an individual meat pie quite like the ones served yesterday. Top notch! Lee Thompson heads up a great team with nothing left to chance when it comes to service. Always willing to discuss, agree, and implement any special arrangements.
Only downside we found was that when requesting water for the table, it was served in plastic cups/glasses. Just didn't fit in with everything else which was impeccable.
