About This Pub

Ah, the Premier Inn Chorley North – it's one of those places that really grows on you with its warm, canal-side setting, ideal if you're on a road trip or just fancy a break in Lancashire. I have to say, the staff stand out as the real stars; they're so attentive and make a point of checking in about things like allergies or intolerances at breakfast, which feels thoughtful and personal. The rooms are just what you'd hope for – clean as a whistle, with comfy beds and all the basics sorted for a good kip. And that location by the canal? Brilliant for a gentle stroll, especially if you've got kids in tow, and the pub next door is a proper gem for winding down with a pint. On the flip side, it's not all smooth sailing; I've heard of a few instances where service fell flat, like a rude receptionist or minor room issues that needed fixing on the spot, which could leave you a bit frustrated. All in all, though, with such glowing feedback from most visitors, it's a solid choice for a hassle-free overnight, as long as you keep expectations realistic for a budget-friendly spot.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The staff are absolutely brilliant and go out of their way to make you feel welcome, especially when it comes to dietary needs like food intolerances – they really make sure nothing's too much trouble.
  • Rooms are spotlessly clean and super comfortable, with comfy beds and all the little touches like tea and coffee facilities for a proper relaxing stay.
  • The location by the canal is just lovely, perfect for easy, flat walks and a bit of fresh air, making it a great spot if you're passing through to places like Blackpool.
  • Free parking on site is a real winner, taking the hassle out of things when you're arriving by car.
  • The pub next door is fantastic, adding a nice touch for grabbing a drink or meal after your day, and it's family-friendly too.
Cons
  • Some staff interactions can be a bit off, like one case where a receptionist was quite rude, which put a damper on the experience.
  • There might be occasional room niggles, such as a faulty remote or not enough towels, which could leave you sorting things out at reception.

The staff were all brilliant. They asked if I had any allergies at breakfast. I haven't, I do have food intolerance to some ingredients . They asked me if I wanted to look at the allergy chart/list they have they made me feel nothing was too much trouble

This has got to be the best Premier inn we've ever stayed in. All the staff have been great with us and our kids. The room was spotlessly clean and very airy. The beds we're comfortable as usual. It's location next to the canal allows for easy relatively flat walks. The malt house pub next door was slightly more expensive than we had hoped but the food and staff were beyond excellent. Even helping with our fussy 11 year old. We will definitely be coming back to this hotel, hopefully soon. Fantastic work everyone.

Stayed here just for the one night to split up a 10 hour drive home. The receptionist was ever so nice. The room was clean, tidy and warm. Had a great nights sleep. Breakfast was good even for us coeliacs.

well i was really disappointed with my stay on valentine’s day, the receptionist was very rude to start with. when we got to our room the to remote didn’t work and there was only one towel so we went back to reception to sort this out she said to leave it with her and she’ll have it sorted. so we had no tv or anything for half hour so we decided to bathe (the bath and toilet was dirty) so i had to try my best to clean the bath out myself. then to top our stay off id forgotten my hair growth kit shampoos oils etc ( probably over£200) worth of products. i rang the hotel 3 days in a row to collect my products but i kept getting fobbed off with the housekeepers aren’t in work so i rang earlier and the excuse was then it hasn’t been put in lost property. i still haven’t received my products back. disgusting !
