About This Pub
Ah, Roman Bath in York – it's one of those pubs that just draws you in with its welcoming feel and buzzing energy. From what I've gathered from the reviews, the staff are top-notch, always cheerful and quick to serve up a cracking pint or a glass of wine, and the prices won't break the bank, which is a real win in a busy city like York. The live music nights sound like an absolute blast, with bands putting on brilliant performances that get everyone in the mood, and there's even a cosy beer garden with screens for the footie, making it ideal for a catch-up with mates. On the flip side, it's a shame about that one review highlighting how security didn't handle a rowdy situation properly, as it could put some people off, especially if you're after a safe, relaxed night out. Overall, with a solid 4.2 rating from heaps of reviews, it's well worth a visit if you're in the area, but maybe keep an eye on things and check ahead for opening times to avoid any disappointments.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The staff are absolutely lovely and friendly, making you feel right at home as soon as you walk in.
-
They've got a smashing vibe with live music on Friday nights that really gets the crowd going.
-
Reasonable prices for drinks in the heart of York, which is a nice surprise for a city centre spot.
-
A lovely little beer garden with TVs for watching sport, perfect for a relaxed afternoon or evening.
-
The selection of beers is fairly typical but solid, and the overall atmosphere is warm and welcoming.
Cons
-
There have been issues with security not stepping in quickly enough during disruptive behaviour, which can make some folks feel unsafe.
-
Not much info on operating hours, so you might end up turning up when it's closed, which is a bit of a letdown.

Stopped here for a drink when we went to york lovely pub lovely staff highly recommended
Only went to the pub - fairly typical selection of beers, but the vibe of the live music on Friday nights is absolutely smashing!
Visited this evening and band The Echoes performing brilliant, the music/vocals excellent.
Service at the bar was good and very reasonable prices for a city centre pub in York.
Low profile security staff made for a very pleasant night.
Fully recommend.
When a male member of the public is off his head, dancing like he's head butting people, and the security staff do nothing.
And they wonder why women don't come into the bar .
Disgraceful
What a fabulous pub this is. Called in on a rainy Bank Holiday Monday afternoon and was served by a friendly, happy lady. We had 2 glasses of wonderful Sauvignon blanc. There were tv' s on for those wanting to watch sport and music playing. There is a lovely little beer garden which also has a tv and am sure would be perfect on a sunny day. I great find and will be back.
