The Riverside Bar, Beeston Marina, Beeston, Nottingham NG9 1NB

About This Pub

Ah, Riverside Bar – it's one of those places that just draws you in with its picturesque setting along the River Trent, where you can sit back with a drink and watch the world go by. I have to say, the views are an absolute highlight; it's so relaxing, especially on a sunny day when the outdoor area really comes alive, and the community vibe is spot on for catching up with mates or meeting new faces over some live tunes. The staff are just lovely, always up for a chat and making sure everyone feels welcome, and let's not forget the great value – you'll get solid drinks and food without breaking the bank, which is a win in my book. Plus, if you're out with your dog, they'll be treated like royalty with special menus and treats. On the flip side, though, it's not without its rough edges; the place can look a bit tired inside and out, giving it that old-school charm but maybe not the sleek finish some folks might hope for. And with the kitchen closed early in the week, it's more of a drinks-focused visit on those days. All in all, it's a solid choice for a laid-back afternoon or evening if you're in Nottingham, but it might not be the spot for something more upscale – still, I'd pop in again for the atmosphere alone!

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The stunning riverside location right on the banks of the River Trent makes it a real treat for a peaceful pint with gorgeous views.
  • Prices are spot on – you'll find some cracking deals on drinks and food, making it easy on the wallet for a night out.
  • The staff are absolute gems; they're friendly, chatty, and go out of their way to make you feel right at home.
  • It's wonderfully dog-friendly, with treats and a special menu for furry friends, which is brilliant if you're popping in with your pooch.
  • There's a lovely community atmosphere with live entertainment and plenty of space outdoors, ideal for soaking up the sun and mingling with locals.
Cons
  • The decor inside and out can feel a tad shabby and dated, which might not live up to expectations for a fancy evening.
  • The kitchen's only open from Wednesday to Sunday, so if you're after a bite on a Monday or Tuesday, you might be out of luck.
  • It's not the most modern spot, which could disappoint if you're after something a bit more polished or contemporary.

Found this little place last Sunday after visiting Attenborough Nature Reserve, good prices, good music and lovely views. Came back today to try the food after another Sunday walk, amazing food and amazing value. Will be back again!

Riverside bar is always welcoming and the staff are amazingly friendly, and I have to be completely fecking honest - the drinks are the cheapest I've had in a long time since covid began. So £4.55 double Southern Comfort and lemonade, plus only £4 for the strawberry and lime cider then omg wait for it 4 shots for £7 and these have fireball/ sambucca. They have a pool table and good music, they remember you plus I love the walk to it, always come here and tbh its 45 mins walk from me but this is my local. The food I ordered is a simple but served in good speed and to a good standard - its home meals at good prices and no restriction on sauce lol £3.30 for my chip butty. Its also a beautiful stop off while visiting Chilwell Attenborough nature reserve, its a must visit and a must pit stop for the man of your life. Pool, alcohol and food.

Stopped here for a quick pint whilst on a walk in the area. This is not the most modern of bars but it does have a community vibe to it. The choices of drink are better than expected. Great spot for some outside drinking with tables and a great view of the river. Didn't eat here so can't comment. Would return
