About This Pub

Oh, what a gem the Queens Head Inn is – it's one of those places that just feels like a proper village local, tucked away near Harrogate, where you can settle in for some seriously good grub and a pint of real ale. From what I've gathered from the buzz around it, the food really steals the show; think mouthwatering Sunday roasts with the best gravy you've ever tasted, or that famous steak and ale pie that's got everyone raving. The staff are an absolute delight, always up for a chat and making sure you're looked after, which gives the whole spot a lovely, homely feel. Plus, if you're after a stay, their B&B rooms sound comfy and straightforward, with perks like free EV charging that make it even more appealing for a quick getaway. On the flip side, it's not the easiest to find if you're not familiar with the area, so do plan your route, and it does fill up quickly, meaning you'll want to sort out a table in advance to avoid any disappointment. All in all, it's a top choice for a relaxed meal or a cosy night away, and I'd say it's well worth a visit if you're after that authentic Yorkshire pub experience without any fuss.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The food is absolutely spot on – think hearty Sunday lunches, a legendary steak and ale pie, and even tasty vegetarian options that keep everyone happy.
  • Friendly staff who make you feel right at home, with brilliant service that adds to the cosy, welcoming vibe.
  • Great value for your money, whether you're popping in for a meal or staying in their comfortable B&B rooms – and booking direct gets you the best rates.
  • They've got free EV charging, which is a brilliant bonus if you're driving an electric car around the Harrogate area.
  • A proper traditional Yorkshire pub atmosphere, perfect for enjoying real ales and soaking up that village community feel.
Cons
  • It's a tad out of the way on a country lane, so you might need your sat nav to find it, especially if you're arriving after dark.
  • It can get quite busy, particularly for meals, so it's wise to book ahead to avoid missing out on a table.

Had lunch there during the week. Wonderful food and great value. Was quite busy so would recommend that you book in advance to ensure a table. We had lasagne, Gammon and fish and chips all very tasty and would definitely have again.

The finest steak and ale pie I’ve tasted. The menu provides a great selection without being overkill. The staff is friendly and engaging and the prices are very competitive.

Situated just outside Harrogate, this pub offers very good food in a comfortable, friendly dining room where plenty of diners can enjoy a real fire and a Yorkshire welcome. The staff are great too. Glad we had the sat nav working as we arrived after dark (country lane to negotiate) but there’s plenty of parking at the rear of the pub. It’s in a quiet location in a small village. The bedroom was fine and warm ( duvet perhaps a little warmer than I like) and old style- (not chic boutique)but it was plenty big enough in the twin room. Hope we will stay again and next time we will call and book direct and get a cheaper rate.
