About This Pub
Ah, the Queens Arms – it's one of those pubs that really captures the heart of Barnet, you know? From the moment you step in, the friendly team makes you feel like you're among pals, and the food is spot on, with those generous roasts and traditional meals that leave you satisfied. I love how they've got all the extras going on, like showing the big games, hosting live music, and even a games room for a bit of fun, plus it's thoughtful touches like being dog-friendly and having outdoor space that make it stand out. But let's be straight, it's not without its flaws – some evenings it can feel a tad lifeless, with not enough buzz or even drinks options, and I've read a few gripes about strange smells or staff who aren't always on top form, which might put you off if you're after a lively night. Still, with an overall rating hovering around 4.3, it's clear most folks have a good time, so if you're popping by, maybe go on a busier day for the full experience. All in all, it's a solid choice for a relaxed pint or meal, as long as you keep expectations realistic.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The staff are absolutely brilliant – from what I've heard, they're super welcoming and make you feel right at home, like chatting with old mates behind the bar.
-
They've got some cracking food on offer, especially those hearty roasts and pub classics that hit the spot after a long day.
-
It's a great spot for catching up with friends, with live music, sporting events on the telly, and even a games room with pool tables to keep things lively.
-
Being dog-friendly, wheelchair accessible, and having a nice garden area makes it feel inclusive and perfect for a relaxed outing.
-
The location's spot on, just off Barnet High Street near the cinema, and they've got free parking which is a real bonus in a busy area.
Cons
-
Some folks have mentioned the place can feel a bit dead at times, with not much going on or drinks running low, which might put a dampener on your visit.
-
There are complaints about odd smells and staff not always seeming engaged, which could make the atmosphere less inviting on certain days.
-
It seems like there might be inconsistencies with opening hours or even temporary closures, so it's worth checking ahead to avoid disappointment.
-
A few reviews suggest the pub's lost a bit of its spark lately, feeling more rundown than it used to, which is a shame for such a historic spot.

Lilly and Taylor were the best Bar staff I’ve met in a while. Very accommodating and made me feel at home. Defo coming back
Used to be a decent pub, now it’s just dead. Hardly any drinks available, place smells weird, and staff clearly don’t care. Feels like it’s already closed
On a Sunday it is a roast menu with unlimited Roasties and yorkies. Sides/small plates incl cauliflower cheese, pork belly bites and glazed pigs in blankets
Our table had vegetarian wellington £12, mixed roast £15, beef roast £16 and sides. The food was all freshly made. A real quality 'home cooked' pub roast. Felt like the kitchen kept to small menu but done exceptionally well. Felt quite nostalgic have a homely roast in a pub. We all loved it very much. Highly recommend. The pork bites and pigs in blankets were also a genius idea to have as a nibble with a drink
We had draft cokes at £3 a pint, bierra Morettii and Alcohol free cider (can't recall price of these) the car park is spacious and free.
The pool table takes both cash and card and was in new condition. There was a fuzeball/ table football and board games available
Staff were attentive and created a welcoming and good atmosphere
The pub had a lovely Xmas tree. And music at the right level and vibe.
The pub is very dog friendly
Highly recommend this to all . Couples, families and friends wanting to catch-up. It is a very spacious pub with sections so good for events too
Went to this pub for the first time Sunday with my young son and his friend, from walking in I was made so welcome by the landlord and all the locals, for the 6 hours I was there I had an absolute blast. Fantastic food and service second to none. What a credit to Barnet this jewel of a pub is. Thanks for the memories and see you all soon. Bertie holmfirth
Best pub in Barnet!!!
The service was amazing, when I arrived the kitchen was already closed the gentleman behind the bar allowed me to get from the outside and eat in the pub.
Plus they have a game's room including 2 pool tables and much more! live music, free parking...
Owner and staff are very friendly!
