About This Pub
Ah, the Kings Head – it's one of those pubs that just feels like a warm hug when you step inside, especially after a long day. From what I've gathered from the reviews and the vibe on their site, it's got that genuine, old-school charm that's been going strong since 1888, with staff like Gareth, Hayley, and Steve who go out of their way to make everyone feel welcome, whether you're there for a quick pint or joining in on the karaoke. The beer is spot on, and the hearty food hits the spot, plus it's super inclusive with its dog-friendly policy and accessible layout, not to mention that lovely outdoor area for when the weather's on your side. They're always showing the big sports matches, which is fantastic if you're into that, but on the flip side, it can get a bit packed during peak times, and if you're not a fan of traditional settings, it might come across as a tad dated. Overall, though, it's a solid choice for a relaxed evening – I'd say give it a go if you're in Barnet, as the positive buzz from folks like Elijah and Wendy really shines through, balancing out any minor niggles with heaps of good times.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The staff are incredibly welcoming and friendly, always making you feel right at home as soon as you walk in.
-
They've got a fantastic selection of beers and hearty pub grub that's just spot on for a proper British meal.
-
It's dog-friendly and wheelchair accessible, which is brilliant if you're popping in with your furry friend or need a place that's easy to get around.
-
The outdoor garden area is a real gem, perfect for enjoying a pint in the fresh air on a sunny day.
-
They show all the major sports events on Sky Sports, so it's a top spot if you're keen on catching the game with mates.
Cons
-
It's a very traditional pub, so if you're after something more modern or trendy, it might feel a bit old-school and not quite your vibe.
-
It can get quite busy during big events or on weekends, which might make it tricky to find a seat or have a quiet chat.
-
With moderate prices, a night out could add up if you're having a few rounds, so it's worth keeping an eye on the tab.

Just looking at the pics been a lot of changes since myself and my ex husband were assistant Managers 1979/1980 …. It looks fabulous now … well done …. Is the off licence still attached ? Wendy x
Great outdoor area. Internal room layouts are quaint and reflect the age of the pub.
Came here on a Friday night and didn’t expect to be joining in on the karaoke with all the friendly staff and locals. Will be coming back, Hayley was the absolute best!
