About This Pub
Ah, the Punch & Judy – it's one of those classic London spots that just feels like a warm hug when you step inside, especially if you're after a proper pint and some tasty pub fare in the bustling Covent Garden area. From what I've gathered from the buzz around it, the food really shines, with rave reviews for their Sunday roasts and seasonal specials that hit the spot every time, and the service is spot on, with staff who go out of their way to make your visit memorable. It's got that lovely historic vibe, dating back to the 1700s, and extras like a beer garden and being dog-friendly make it a go-to for a relaxed afternoon or evening with friends. On the flip side, though, it can get absolutely packed, so you might find yourself jostling for a table or dealing with the stairs between levels, which isn't ideal for all. Plus, if you're there later, the food might not be as fresh as hoped, and the child booking limit could cramp your style for family plans. All in all, it's a solid choice for a fun night out, but I'd say it's best to plan ahead and go with the flow to make the most of it.

-
Being dog-friendly and having perks like WiFi makes it a versatile spot for all sorts of occasions, and they've got some fun events like Pride celebrations to keep things lively.
Cons
-
It can get pretty busy, especially in such a central location, so you might struggle to find a seat and end up playing pot luck with the crowds.
-
The pub is spread over multiple levels with stairs, which isn't ideal if you're not keen on climbing or have mobility concerns – it's a bit of a faff.
-
Some folks have mentioned that the food can feel a tad reheated if you pop in later in the day, like for that Sunday roast, so timing your visit might be key.
-
Bookings with kids are only until 9 PM, which could limit options if you're planning a family outing that runs a bit later.

Love this place! I’m only in London every couple of years, but I will definitely be back. The food was amazing. The service was amazing. The atmosphere was incredible and cozy. I give it six stars out of five.
We were at Punch & Judy last Monday and really enjoyed ourselves. What a fun place to enjoy great food! Love the shirt.
First pub I ate at in London. I was on a mission for Sunday roast dinner and was not disappointed! That gravy was a food group all on its own 🤤
Came for the Sunday roast at about 515pm. That was probably my first mistake. The meat was tasty, but the rest felt reheated and possibly left from lunch. Regardless, it wasn't actually bad as a whole, but I would probably try elsewhere before returning.
To be fair though, really reasonable price at £18 compared to other establishments
Very good Greene King pub in Covent Garden set over two levels, a basement or a first floor so you will either need to descend or climb stairs. Can get busy so it's pot luck if you are able to get somewhere to sit. Exceptionally friendly staff and a place I always visit when I go to London.
