About This Pub
Ah, Oscar’s Bar & Niteclub – it's one of those places in Scunthorpe that you hear about from mates looking for an affordable night out. From the reviews, it sounds like they've got the basics spot on with incredibly cheap drinks and some top-notch tunes that really get the energy going, as Hugh Mann put it with his talk of a 'scintillating vibrant night out'. John White mentioned it's been refitted and looks amazing now, which is always a nice surprise when you walk in. Plus, free entry and friendly chats with the staff and others make it feel welcoming, like you're just popping round to a pal's for a drink. On the downside, though, David Thompson had a point about it being freezing inside – you might end up huddled over your pint wishing for a bit more warmth, especially on those nippy evenings. And with not much buzz lately, it could be quieter than you'd hope, more of a quick stop than a full evening's entertainment. All in all, I'd say it's worth a visit if you're after something straightforward and easy on the wallet, but keep your expectations in check and maybe bring an extra layer just in case – it's got that honest, no-frills charm that makes for a memorable chat over a pint.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The drinks are dead cheap here, which makes it a brilliant spot for a budget-friendly night out without breaking the bank.
-
You've got some banging tunes and a really vibrant atmosphere that keeps things lively and fun.
-
It's been refitted and looks absolutely amazing now, giving it a fresh and inviting feel that's perfect for a casual get-together.
-
Free entry means you can just wander in without any hassle, which is always a plus for spontaneous plans.
-
The staff and the crowd are great to chat with, adding a friendly, welcoming vibe that makes you feel right at home.
Cons
-
It can get pretty cold inside, so you might need to wrap up warm even on a night out, which takes away from the comfort a bit.
-
The heating seems to be lacking, making it less cosy during chillier evenings – a real shame when you're trying to relax.
-
With not many recent reviews, it feels like the place might not be as buzzing these days, so it could be hit or miss for a lively evening.
-
Some folks find it's more suited for a quick pint rather than a full night, so it might not hold your attention for long.

It's ok for a quick pint, £2.50 for a pint of fosters is good value, wrap up warm as it was very cold inside. Could do with some heating on.
I love the atmosphere here if you can get passed the lack of heat inside the building the drinks are cheap the music is good the staff are brilliant and the customers and staff are great to talk to.
