About This Pub

Ah, the Lord Roberts – it's one of those pubs that just feels like a proper local gem in Scunthorpe. From what I've gathered chatting about it, the staff really shine through with their bubbly personalities and warm welcomes, making every visit feel like catching up with old mates. The live bands every week add such a lively buzz to the place; it's brilliant for a singalong or just soaking in the atmosphere with a drink in hand. And the food? Well, the carvery and cooked breakfasts get rave reviews for being tasty and straightforward without any fuss, all at prices that won't leave you skint. On the flip side, though, the hours can seem a tad unpredictable based on what's listed, so you might end up turning up when it's not quite as hopping as you'd hoped. Plus, without a website, it's a bit of a faff to get all the details sorted before you go. Overall, it's a solid spot for a good time, but I'd say it's best for those who fancy a no-nonsense pub experience with a bit of heart – just keep an eye on the timings and you'll have a whale of a time.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The staff are absolutely lovely and bubbly, always making you feel right at home with their warm welcomes.
  • It's got a brilliant atmosphere, especially with live bands playing every week – perfect for a fun night out.
  • The food is spot on; think delicious carvery and cooked breakfasts that hit the spot without breaking the bank.
  • Prices are reasonable, so you can enjoy a pint or a meal without worrying about the cost.
  • The place is clean and tidy, which makes it a comfortable spot to relax and unwind.
Cons
  • The operating hours seem a bit inconsistent from what I've seen, which might catch you out if you're planning a late visit.
  • There's no website to check out menus or events in advance, so you might have to pop in or call to get the full picture.

I am only in Scunthorpe for another week. . I went alone to the Lord Robert’s on 2 occasions. Live music night Saturday. The Welcome from bar staff and patrons was so warm and welcoming. Love it. Thankyou because you can take the girl out of Scunthorpe ….. not the Scunthorpe out if the girl. See you all Saturday 24th for my Goodbyes. Thanks to you all. Special thanks to Rob Cardy who watched out for me

Enjoyed father's day Sunday carvery here, this is my parents favourite place to eat carvery as the vegetables are not covered in sauces. Highly recommended.
