About This Pub
Ah, New Spires – what a gem of a pub in Coventry! I've got to say, from what I've seen, it's one of those places that just gets it right for a good old get-together. The staff are the real stars here; they're friendly, chatty, and make you feel like you're part of the furniture from the moment you walk in. Whether it's grabbing a pint from their well-stocked bar or tucking into some hearty pub grub, there's something for everyone, and it's all at a price that won't sting your wallet. I love how they've got that beer garden sorted for when the weather's on your side, and it's brilliant for families or even bringing along the dog – it's that inclusive feel that keeps you coming back. On the flip side, it does wrap up a bit early at 11 PM, so if you're planning a big night out, you might need to plan ahead. And during match days, it can get buzzing with excitement, which is fantastic if you're into that, but if you're after a mellow evening, it might feel a tad overwhelming. All in all, it's a solid choice for us pub lovers – honest, welcoming, and with just enough charm to make it a regular haunt.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The staff are absolutely brilliant and make you feel right at home, with mentions of folks like Michelle, Pip, and Shaun going the extra mile to create a welcoming vibe.
-
It's a proper family-friendly spot with a bouncy castle for the little ones, a decent beer garden for soaking up the sun, and even space for watching live sports on plenty of TVs.
-
The food is spot on – think delicious pub classics, daily deals, and a diverse menu that caters to all tastes, plus it's inexpensive so you won't break the bank.
-
They're super dog-friendly, which is great if you're out with your furry mate, and perks like free parking, WiFi, and disabled access make it easy to pop in.
-
The atmosphere is unbeatable, whether you're there for a quick pint, a Sunday lunch, or catching up with mates – it's all about making memories in a relaxed setting.
Cons
-
It closes at 11 PM, so if you're after a late-night session, you might have to head elsewhere to keep the evening going.
-
While the reviews are glowing, it can get quite lively during big events like football matches, which might not suit if you're after a quiet, peaceful drink.

Absolutely the best pub I’ve ever been to! The atmosphere is unbeatable, and the staff are incredible – especially Michelle and Pip, who make every visit feel special !x
Shaun (barman) what a man! Welcoming to all punters especially if they have animals.. it’s the little things he does extra that get people coming back to the pub! Great lad with a great work ethic.
What a brilliant pub, staff are very friendly and helpful. Food was delicious and my kids loved playing outside on the bouncy castle. Also watched all the England football games last year here, great atmosphere and plenty of TVs to choose from. Would highly recommend
