About This Pub
Ah, The Brooklands, what a gem it is for those of us in Coventry looking for a reliable spot to unwind. I've got to say, the first thing that strikes you is how genuinely welcoming the team are; it's like popping round to a mate's house for a chat and a bite. The food really steals the show too – think sizzling skillets and flame-grilled burgers that are cooked to perfection and won't set you back much, with plenty of choices for different tastes. It's clear they're putting in the effort with fresh, quality ingredients, and it's spot on for families or groups wanting a relaxed afternoon or evening. On the flip side, being part of a chain means it lacks a bit of that quirky, local personality you might crave, and the hours can be a bit confusing if you're hoping for a proper late-night session. All in all, though, it's a solid choice for everyday pubbing – you'll leave feeling satisfied and with a smile, but it might not blow your socks off if you're after something truly distinctive. If you're in the area, I'd definitely give it a go for a straightforward, enjoyable experience.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, making you feel right at home from the moment you walk in.
-
The food is top-notch – fresh ingredients, great value for money, and options for everyone, including vegan and vegetarian choices.
-
Service is quick and efficient, even on busy evenings, so you won't be left waiting around for your meal.
-
It's a real community hub, supporting local charities and offering a free function area, which adds a nice touch of warmth.
-
With its traditional pub vibe and affordable prices, it's perfect for a relaxed catch-up with mates or a family meal out.
Cons
-
As a chain pub, it might not have that unique, one-of-a-kind character you'd find in an independent spot, feeling a bit formulaic at times.
-
The operating hours can seem a tad inconsistent based on what's listed, which might leave you guessing if you're planning a late visit.
-
While the food and service shine, it doesn't seem to offer much in the way of exciting entertainment or special events beyond the basics.

A fantastic pub with a friendly atmosphere. The food is great and arrives quickly. All of the staff are friendly and welcoming. This is a pub where everyone is welcome. You can come for food or just drinks and experience the same excellent service. I would highly recommend people to visit.
On a busy Friday evening the food was served quickly and was presented nicely , tasted good too.
All staff were friendly, this establishment is clearly run very efficiently by manager Mel.
Well done
Went last night with my partner for dinner as this pub has a really good reputation for food.
We had the tandoori skewers which were amazing, to be fair cooked to perfection.
Staff on arrival were extremely welcoming and polite.
Would recommend to all
An all round great pub ; we went for an early evening meal on a busy Saturday. The food and service were both outstanding. The quality of the food for the cost is excellent.
