About This Pub
Ah, 400 Rabbits – what a gem of a place in the heart of Nottingham! I've got to say, it's one of those spots that really stands out for its dedication to agave spirits, making it a must-visit if you're into exploring tequilas and mezcals in a fun, welcoming environment. The cocktails are just brilliant; they're creative, tasty, and the staff go out of their way to make recommendations, which is always a treat when you're trying something new. The Mexican-inspired vibe adds a lovely touch, with that cosy upstairs area for groups and even some retro arcade games to keep things entertaining. On the flip side, it's quite specialised, so if agave isn't your cup of tea – or should I say, shot of tequila – you might find the options a bit limited compared to a traditional pub. Plus, it's hidden in an alleyway, which can make it hard to spot at first, and it does fill up quickly, so planning ahead is key. All in all, though, it's a fantastic choice for a memorable night out, especially if you're up for something a little different from the usual round of beers. I'd definitely recommend giving it a go if you're in the area – you might just discover a new favourite!
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The drinks selection is absolutely spot on, with a brilliant range of tequilas and mezcals that really cater to enthusiasts – it's Nottingham's first dedicated spot for agave spirits, and you can tell the passion shines through.
-
The cocktails are creative and delicious, fairly priced for what you get, and the staff are so friendly and knowledgeable; they'll help you pick something perfect if you're not sure where to start.
-
The atmosphere is cosy and vibrant with a fun Mexican theme, complete with an upstairs area for groups and even a cute corner for retro arcade games – it's just a lovely place to unwind.
-
It's open late most nights, making it ideal for after-work drinks or a night out, and the overall vibe feels welcoming and exciting without being overwhelming.
Cons
-
It might feel a tad niche if you're not keen on tequilas or mezcals, as the focus is heavily on agave spirits – so if you're after a more varied pub selection, it could leave you wanting.
-
Being tucked away in an alleyway off the main streets, it can be a bit tricky to find, especially if you're new to Nottingham, which might put some folks off on a first visit.
-
It does get quite busy at peak times, so you might have to wait for a table or struggle for space, and while the prices are moderate, they could add up if you're planning a long evening.
-
The spot's specialisation means it's not the best for a quiet pint; it's more geared towards cocktails and spirits, so if that's not your thing, you might not linger as long.

Lovely corner inspired by Mexican culture, specialised in tequila and mezcal. It used to be one of my favourite spots before Brexit and I'm super glad it still goes strong.
It has an upper floor for larger groups and there's also a cute corner where to play retro arcade games.
It's worth giving it a try during happy hour (5-8pm) when all cocktails are £7/each
Great little bar. The drinks selection is great, the cocktails are tasty and fairly priced. The bar staff are friendly and more than happy to help you find a drink you'll enjoy.
The most pleasant experience!
Price: Worth it!
Atmosphere: Comfortable yet exciting
I have visited 3 times and each time I am met with a smile and passionate mixologists behind the bar. Went for New year and one of the bar tenders managed to get me a table. I said it would be more people than who actually turned up. They were very understanding and didn’t care that I overestimated (😂).
Any drink from here is top tier. Even if you don’t know what you want, workers are happy to give their best opinion based on what you like. They never miss!
Huge props to the lad with the long hair. I have been served by him every time and he is always exceptional.
A tiny tequila cocktail bar hidden in the alleyway.
Have great tequila selection out there, creative with cocktails and its presentation.
If you are not a tequila lover, do not worry there is a cocktail for everyone. Their menu offers many drinks.
Recommended to visit earlier hour as at that time still possible to get a table and enjoy the drink.
P.S. Ask bar tenders why it is called 400 Rabbits?! It is a nice story behind it.
A cosy and casual yet vibrant, through the gift shop feel to this Mexican themed cocktail bar. Friendly and very helpful staff making superb drink recommendations. Jen was excellent and I put my drinks fate firmly in her hands, barely making a choice myself which proved to be the best decision!! A must for tequila lovers and those that only know the spine shuddering salt and lime experience alike - even their house shot is smooth!
