About This Pub

Oh, the Lady of Mann – it's one of those pubs that just pulls you in with its timeless charm, isn't it? From what I've gathered from chats with fellow pub enthusiasts, it's got this wonderful ancient design with old walls and a ceiling that tells stories of days gone by, making every visit feel a bit special. The beers are spot on, and pairing them with a tasty pie makes for a proper treat. The staff often bring a smile and a dash of humour, which really lifts the atmosphere, and it's brilliant for nipping in for a quiet drink or even sorting out a little function. That said, it's not all perfect – things can get a tad frustrating when it's busy, like during big events where service might not keep up, and you could end up scratching your head trying to locate it in that courtyard. Still, on balance, it's a solid choice for a relaxed evening out, as long as you go in with realistic expectations and maybe plan ahead for peak times. All in all, it's got that warm, inviting spirit that makes you want to return for another round.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The pub's ancient design and stylish interior really give it a charming, old-school vibe that makes you feel right at home.
  • They've got a cracking selection of beers, like Staropramen, and the pies are spot on – tasty and satisfying.
  • The staff are generally friendly and have a great sense of humour, which adds a fun touch to your visit.
  • There's lovely outdoor seating that's perfect for soaking up the sun on a nice day, making it ideal for casual meet-ups.
  • It's kept really clean and offers plenty of seating, whether you're after a quiet pint or a spot for a small gathering.
Cons
  • Service can fall short during busy times, like when they wouldn't turn up the sound for an event, which might spoil the moment.
  • It's a bit tucked away in a courtyard, so you might have a hard time finding it if you're not familiar with the area.
  • The place gets absolutely packed on weekends, which could mean waiting around or not getting a seat straight away.

Booked a table to watch Grand National. Bought beers from 1pm. Asked staff to turn sound up for National. "I'm serving people. I haven't got time to turn sound up". What??? Try watching the Grand National without the sound. Total Joke. Out group spent over £150 on drinks from 1pm. We've been last two years. Won't be getting another penny of us ever again

This was a superb pub for drinking, with an ancient design intact throughout! This is shown from the old walls and the ceiling with its black and white, counter is stylish in its presentation too. I had a pint of Staropramen, enjoying the outside seating and cleanliness was maintained!

Good beer and tasty pies. Funny and helpful waitress. The best part is sence of humor by the pub itself.

You can't see this pub from the road as you need to walk into the courtyard of Rigbys pub to get to it. I think most people that come here tend to sit in the courtyard as it's very nice here on a summer's day. It very popular and does get full on the weekends. Good selection of beers and friendly staff.
