About This Pub

Ah, the Kings Head – it's one of those pubs that really feels like the heart of the community in Tooting, you know? I've heard from loads of folks that it's a top spot for grabbing a pint and soaking in the atmosphere, especially if you're into watching the big games like the Women's Euros or rugby tours. The beer selection is bang on, with refreshing options that go down a treat, and that outdoor area is just lovely for a chat on a nice day. It's family-oriented and even welcomes dogs, which makes it feel inclusive and welcoming. On the flip side, it does get packed, so you might find yourself queuing at the bar, and while the service is generally friendly – like when they quickly top up an under-poured drink with a smile – the food doesn't quite live up to the hype, coming across as a bit bland. Overall, it's a solid choice for a relaxed evening out, but I'd say it's best for drinks and vibes rather than a gourmet meal. If you're in the area, it's definitely worth popping in for the experience.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The selection of beers is spot on, with a great variety including favourites like Neck Oil that hit the spot on a warm day.
  • It's a brilliant place for catching live sports, with loads of TVs inside and even screens in the outdoor area, making it ideal for footie or rugby fans.
  • The historic building has such a lovely, welcoming atmosphere – it's like stepping into a classic London pub that's full of character.
  • They've got a fantastic outdoor space that's perfect for a sunny afternoon, and it's family-friendly and dog-friendly too.
  • Table service via an app is a nice touch; it makes things easier when it gets busy, and the staff are generally helpful and cheerful.
Cons
  • It can get quite crowded at times, which means a bit of a wait at the bar – not ideal if you're in a rush for that next round.
  • The food might not wow you; a few folks mentioned it's a tad flavourless, so it could be better for drinks than a full meal.
  • There have been occasional slip-ups, like drinks not being poured quite right, though the team sorts it out with a smile.

Nice pub, good selection of beers. Did not have food but what we saw of it looked good. Has a separate sport bar with loads of TVs. If it gets busy bitvof a wait at bar but they do have table service by qr code and app which many were using.

Popped in to use the facilities and had a quick half of Neck Oil - perfectly refreshing when 24oc outside! Fast forward 4 hrs, I returned with a friend for a pint [Neck Oil again] the pint was a little under so asked for a top-up which was delivered with a smile! Absolutely beautiful building inside and out and great crowd. Highly recommend and would definitely return 💯

Hugely popular and still one of the best pubs in Tooting. Great outdoor area with a couple of sports screens to supplement all those inside. Bar service remains decent.

Great ambience in a historic pub that’s a landmark in Tooting. Good prices, and both indoor and outdoor are great. Food is a bit flavourless, but great for drinks.

We are regulars at this pub for a quick weekday drink or easy tea for the children. I also had my 45th birthday in the outdoor area. The staff were always helpful during the booking process and accommodated my requests. On the day, everything went smoothly. I had the space an hour before as I wanted to put up decors and set up. Food came when I wanted. Guests (50 of us adults and children afternoon party) can order drinks via app or at the bar. We had a great time and were impressed by the service. They were helpful when we needed mugs of water and plates for the birthday cake.
