About This Pub
You know, when I popped into the King Alfred, it just had that cosy feel that makes you want to settle in for a while. The staff are proper legends – always cheerful and ready to go the extra mile, whether you're grabbing a bite or sorting out a room. The food's a standout, with hearty portions that hit the spot and come out lightning fast, perfect for a quick lunch or a leisurely dinner. And if you're staying over, the rooms are tidy and modern, adding a nice touch for those beachside getaways. It's conveniently placed near the sea and a few other local haunts, which is great for exploring. On the flip side, while I didn't catch any real grumbles, places like this can get a tad crowded at peak times, so it might pay to plan ahead. All in all, it's a solid choice for a good night out or a comfortable stay, and I'd say it's well worth a visit if you're in the area.

Stayed for 2 nights, service was friendly, rooms well presented, modern and clean and food was spot on. It's also close to the beach and in walking distance to another couple of pubs and local amenities. Will definitely stay here on my next visit.
I recently stayed at the King Alfred Hotel in Barrow-in-Furness and had an absolutely wonderful experience. From the moment I arrived, the staff were incredibly welcoming and friendly, making me feel right at home.
The room was spotless, spacious, and very comfortable, with everything I needed for a relaxing stay. The decor is tasteful and modern, yet still retains a warm and cozy atmosphere.
The bar also had a great selection of drinks and a lovely ambiance, perfect for unwinding in the evening.
Location-wise, it’s ideal for exploring the local area and the parking was convenient and easy.
All in all, I couldn’t fault a thing. I’ll definitely be returning and highly recommend the King Alfred Hotel to anyone visiting Barrow. A true gem!
Went for nice lunch, food was amazing and came out quickly. The young lad behind the bar was very accommodating and well mannered. Massive portions. Definitely highly recommended
We recently chose the King Alfred hotel as the venue for a family funeral reception.
As a family, we were so pleased we did as the reception could not have been bettered.
There was approximately 50 guests who were warmly welcomed by the staff.
The venue was very comfortable, the buffet was of the highest quality and all at a very reasonable price.
Thank you again for making the day a memorable one.
