About This Pub
Ah, Crows Nest – it's one of those pubs that really captures the heart of a good old British local, isn't it? From what I've gathered from the reviews, it's got this lovely, welcoming vibe where the regulars make you feel like part of the gang, even if you're just popping in for a quick one after a walk or a match. I love how it's kept its traditional charm intact, with a bit of history that adds to the character, and the drinks are spot on for value – you won't break the bank here, and there are some decent beers to enjoy alongside a few snacks if you're peckish. On the flip side, though, it's not without its rough patches; the inside can come across as a tad worn and lacking in sparkle, and a couple of folks mentioned the beer not being quite up to scratch, which might disappoint if you're after something premium. Plus, the opening times seem to vary, so it's worth checking ahead to avoid any surprises. All in all, if you're after a genuine, no-fuss spot for a chat and a pint, it's worth a go – just go in with realistic expectations and you'll likely have a cracking time.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The friendly locals and welcoming atmosphere make you feel right at home, even if you're visiting from out of town.
-
It's got that classic old-school charm with plenty of history, which is a rare find these days.
-
Drinks are really affordable, and they've got some nice beers on offer, perfect for a casual pint.
-
They sell snacks, which is a nice touch for a quick bite without needing a full meal.
Cons
-
The interior feels a bit worn and dull, which might not appeal if you're after something more modern.
-
The beer quality isn't always top-notch, so it might not satisfy those with a discerning palate.
-
Opening hours can be a bit unpredictable, which is a shame as it makes planning a visit tricky.

This place has so much history! We've been meaning to call in for a while and finally got round to it, walking back from the rugby. So glad we did. Really friendly locals made us feel welcome despite our Fev shirts 😊. We enjoyed a pint and the crack and would 100% recommend it, even if its just, like me, you want to soak up Barrow's rich shipyard heritage and to hear the stories the walls could tell.
Nice little pub, right next to the biggest shed I've ever seen!
Lovely staff, didn't have any food.
Very cheap, old school pub .
Can't really find these anymore . Really don't understand why this isn't rammed
They also sell snacks which is nice , my only gripe is the opening hours are strange (seem to change regularly) .
Where I'm from this is the best you can't get anymore.
Went in for a couple (of very nice beers card machine £5 min 😉) as a pit stop between the Premier Inn where Darts guys came in set up just a lovely place with lovely people.
There's nothing like it to be honest even as a visitor can tell. Just lovely.

Very worn but old traditional pub. Dull inside and beer ain't the best.
