About This Pub
Ah, Barrow In Furness Brewers Fayre – it's one of those reliable spots you can count on for a straightforward, no-fuss meal, especially if you're in the mood for a classic carvery or a quick lunch deal. I have to say, the staff really shine here; they're always so cheerful and ready to help, which makes the whole experience feel warm and personal, like chatting with old mates over a pint. The food hits some high notes too – portions are generous, and things like the Sunday carvery with its succulent meats and unlimited sides are an absolute treat, not to mention those new lunch options that offer great bang for your buck. It's spacious and easy to get to, which is a plus if you're meeting up with friends or family. On the flip side, though, the outside could use a spruce-up to make that first impression a bit sharper, and honestly, the breakfast might leave you a touch underwhelmed with its bland offerings. Overall, it's a decent choice for everyday dining, but it doesn't quite wow you with anything extraordinary – still, for a relaxed catch-up or a family feed, it's worth a visit if you're in the area.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful, always greeting you with a smile and a bit of humour, which really makes the visit feel welcoming.
-
The food is generally good quality with generous portions – think hearty carvery options and tasty new dishes like the Grilled Chicken Caesar Flatbread, all at a reasonable price.
-
It's spacious and easy to find, making it a convenient spot for a relaxed meal, whether you're popping in for lunch or a family Sunday roast.
-
They offer great value, especially with deals like mains from £5 during lunch hours and the carvery starting at just £11.99, which is perfect for a budget-friendly outing.
-
The atmosphere is tidy and inviting, with hot, delicious food that hits the spot, like that divine chocolate brownie that's simply to die for!
Cons
-
The external areas could do with a bit of a tidy-up, as it might not give the best first impression when you arrive.
-
Some meals, particularly the breakfast, can be a tad bland and disappointing, which might leave you wanting a bit more flavour.
-
It's standard pub grub at the end of the day – nothing particularly groundbreaking, so if you're after something fancy, it might not quite hit the mark.
-
Occasionally, experiences can vary, with a few folks finding certain dishes underwhelming, like the kids' options that don't always please everyone.

Easy to locate, spacious, could just do with a clean up externally.
Very friendly and helpful staff.
Food service time good, good quality and good size portion.
Would happily return.
We called for a lunchtime drink on such a warm day, but my husband spotted the Carvery, and he was enticed by the delicious looking mashed potatoes.
Anya found us a table which was great, as we hadn't booked, and there were lots of other customers enjoying lunch.
The Carvery was so enjoyable. Everything cooked to perfection, and lots of choice!
The staff were all so pleasant. Smiling and responsive to all, which is so nice to see.
Thank-you for a really good Sunday lunch.
Lovely place for me and my partner, Lovely food nice and hot. The chocolate brownie is to die for!! Nice and tidy, Staff always have a smile on their face. Miles is particularly lovely and always has a sense of humour. Favourite place to dine at the moment. Good value for money!
Standard Brewers Fayre grub - nothing special, but relatively cheap and cheerful pub food.
Staff were friendly. Asked for some ketchup and mayo, expecting sachets, and they brought us literal soup bowls of condiments !
Of all the times I've stayed at Premier Inns, the meals from the Brewers Fayre were always disappointing. I find the breakfast bland, my kids hate it.
This time, we took a chance to have dinner, and I must say it wasn't bad. I had a grilled chicken salad, and it was good. I liked the sauce it was served with, and the chicken was soft and grilled perfectly. My kids eat their food with no complaints 👌 which was very surprising. We even had dessert 🍨. The cheese cake I had was OK, but both kids loved their chocolate brownie and ice-cream sundae. So, not bad Borrow-in-Furness.
The layout of the place is 👍 great. I love the rustic look, but it smells awful 😖. They really need to sort that out.
